  1. Ted 2

I laughed once the entire movie, at Mr Worf and The Tick beating up nerds at comic con. I think I also only laughed once at the first one. Not sure why they made a sequel to an unfunny movie where the jokes bombed.

    4/10

  2. Dead Snow 2

Sillier but much more gore than the first one, still very much worth a watch, Nazi zombies always entertain.

    8/10, maybe 7.5/10, I can't decide.

  3. The Guest

A thriller about a stranger who visits a family who lost their son in Iraq. Great soundtrack and something a bit unusual; I went into not knowing a lot and was glad I did. Recommended.

  4. The Duff

It balanced between real social issues and fantasy hot guy really likes ugly girl romance movie. It was sort of entertaining. 5/10

  5. The girl playing the duff isn't ugly or fat though. She's actually kind of hot.

  6. As above, so below.

Average to mediocre found footage horror, although I don't think it would have been found as such based on the ending.

  7. She's portrayed as average while the rest of the high schoolers are 27 year old Old Navy fashion models.

  8. This concept was a lot more realistic in the 90's when rachael leigh cook played the gold standard for ugly high school outcast...

  9. Anne Hathaway has been in similar movies. Then she takes off the glasses and frumpy clothes and she's suddenly hot to everyone's surprise. This concept of hot girl wearing glasses and/or frumpy clothes to look "ugly" and then having a transformation so she can hook up with Freddie Prinze Jr was a cliche in the 90's, but I guess it seems new to millenials.

  11. From South African super model to Florida truckstop hooker. That's why she got the oscar.

  12. That's pretty impressive. They don't give many Oscars to african americans.

  13. I don't know. Mae Whitman is just kind of average-pretty.

Ann Hathaway can bring the hotness if needed.

  14. Dark Places

A pretty good movie, but not as good as Gone Girl. I compare them both to each other since they're both based on Gillian Flynn's books. Dark Places is much darker.

  15. Hotel Transylvania

Not bad for a Sony movie. 6/10

  16. The story was a cluster cluck of a mess but the movie actually looked nice.

    4/10

  17. Ant-Man

Really enjoyed it; had limited options for a spontaneous visit to the cinema so this was the only decent one. Didn't have high expectations but found it entertaining throughout.

As an aside, was shocked at cost of going now. £17 for 2 tickets and another £15 for 2 hotdogs and cokes. So about $50 in the money of our capitalist friends. Way too much.

  18. dont be an amateur man. i dont know how to save you money on hotdogs, but you hit up a gas station or other store and grab a few 20oz soda bottles and pocket them. the fountain soda prices are ridiculous at the movie theater.

  19. Monsly is a jobsworth he wouldn't do that.

  20. Yeah, would have done that with the drinks if the trip was pre-planned. The ticket prices alone put me off though; I go way less nowadays and that's the main reason. Value for money isn't there.
