The Hateful Eight It had some witty, funny dialogue and over the top gore typical of a Tarantino film. Still, I thought it was one of Tarantino's weaker films. It was just too long for what it was, and had too many dull scenes that were just people yammering back and forth at each other for what seemed like an eternity. Almost the entire movie is set in one room in a cabin too, which makes it a bit dull to watch. Almost more like watching a play. 7/10
Sounds like The Sunset Limited. Whole movie takes place in one room with Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel Jackson. It manages to be both enthralling and boring at the same time.
@bfun The movie you described sounds very similar to Hateful Eight, right down the Samuel Jackson being the main character. Hitman Agent 47 It was pretty bad, but I've seen worse. A few of the action scenes were okay. The plot made no sense and had nothing to do with the games. 3/10 The Big Short Boring. Even Margot Robbie in a hot tub couldn't save it. People on Wall Street betting against housing before the 2008 collapse just didn't make for an interesting movie. It's also weird that it portrays these hedge fund managers as heroes when they're really a bunch of scumbags who profited off the misery of others. 3/10
I never finished it. I turned it off. I alternated between being bored out of my mind and utterly disgusted by it. They were treating it like a comedy and had the sexiest men in Hollywood playing the hedge fund managers, so I don't see how you can say they were doing anything other than glamorizing scumbag behavior.
What's Eating Gilbert Grape It's a movie that been on my list for about 20 years and I finally saw it. Pretty good. 8/10
Rambo 1 - 3 I've come to the conclusion that the Metal Gear games rip off these movies hard. Metal Gear Solid V is literally just Rambo 3 the game. Metal Gear Solid 3 is Rambo 2 the game. Basically Rambo + Snake Plisken = Metal Gear Also the Colonel guy from the Rambo movies is in Metal Gear Rambo 3 Metal Gear V In conclusion, Stallone should probably sue.
Spectre So boring we turned it off. Can we get a new Bond already? Daniel Craig sucks. He has the charisma of a wet dish rag and no sense of humor. He looks like a gay fashion model. Edit: went back and finished the movie. It didn't get better. Was really boring and meh.
^ totally agree. Bond has become so slow and boring, not sure how Skyfall got so much positive attention. Oddly, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were solid action movies. Now they make slow building dramas with a bit of action thrown in. The one man army only works if you constantly keeping the action flowing. It also puts a lot of pressure on Daniel Craig to deliver a variety of emotions. The Simon Pegg + Tom Cruise + Ving Rhames combo in Mission Impossible is way more entertaining.
I also was kinda let down by spectre. I really liked skyfall so I was looking to see if spectre delivered but bah.
Christoph Waltz was totally wasted in Spectre. The guy was born to be a Bond villain, and he's only in a few scenes, and they aren't that great.
The Salvation A western starring Hannibal Lector, Eva Greens tits, and the dad from Weeds. It's about how harsh and violent life was on the American frontier just before the rise of Standard Oil. 7/10
Sicario Awesome movie. Not what I thought it was going to be either. I knew it had something to do with the Mexican drug war, but I was expecting a dull police procedural type of thing. This was more like half CIA black ops spy thriller type thing, and half crime drama involving a hitman getting revenge on the rival cartel that killed his family. I like how it portrays the drug war as total BS, with the CIA often siding with one cartel against another. Because there's a lot of evidence that's how the CIA really operates. 9/10
Song of the Sea A great animated movie. The animation style is overly simple and reminds me of Child of Light. The story has a Studio Ghibli feel. 8/10
Bridge of Spies Started off kind of slow and boring, but actually got interesting and suspenseful later in the movie. 7/10
Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father It's a sad story but not really an interesting documentary.
