Last movie you saw?

  1. well that's how it is in real life too so you should be satisfied.

  2. Terminator Genisys..

In the end, it didn't really make sense, too many overlapping time lines that surely meant none of it could have happened?

  3. Right. Too much stuff didn't make sense from a timeline perspective but it was still good.

  4. 10 Cloverfield Lane

It's more of a slow suspense drama thriller than an alien horror movie. John Goodman takes it to an 8/10. I enjoyed it.

And Mary Elizabeth Winstead wasn't too bad either.

  5. I saw it this Saturday... I was bored out of my mind. It had potential but didn't like the path they chose. Ended up playing emulators on my phone.

First JG twist was good, though predictable. Thought the oxygen issue was going to force all of them outside. But they doubled down with a 2nd JG twist. Basically it's 3 people stuck in 400 sq ft for 90 minutes. Then 10 minutes of good stuff.

    The Danish Girl

Alicia Vikander and Eddie Redmayne were really good in this. I came away more convinced than ever that trannies are mentally ill. This guy's delusions ended up killing him because 1930's sex reassignment surgery was so primitive. I mostly just felt bad for the wife who was very loving and patient and wanted to support her husband to the bitter end even though he was batshit crazy and intent on killing himself with dangerous dick chopping surgery.

I loved the part where the quack doctor thought he could cure him of his trannyism by tying him down and blasting his balls with radiation. If only it were so simple.

  7. Quills

The Marquis de Sade was a dude who enjoyed trolling people with his erotic trash masterpiece stories and was constantly getting in trouble for it. I feel like we're basically the same guy.

  8. Amazing how slight changes in environment and people can effect the reception of a movie. Tried to watch Spectre again by myself, feels like one of the worst movies I've ever seen. When I watched it with friends, I thought it was OK.

  9. Spectre was a bad movie. I think its biggest sin was that it completely wasted Christoph Waltz. The guy was born to be a Bond villain.

  10. I'd be pretty hard to match this performance.

  11. Collapse of Complex Societies by Dr. Joseph Tainter

Not a movie but a lecture. In summary, society and the human race are scheduled for a reboot pretty soon. Social complexity and cost are going up while innovation and resources are going down.

  12. Black Hawk Down

    It was a good movie.

  13. Vacation

The thing about classics is that they can suck and still be good for some unknown reason that time forgot. When you remake one all you're left with is suck. I laughed a few times but overall it wasn't very good. 5/10

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

It's a dumb movie in many ways but still entertaining enough to watch. 7/10

  14. Pixels

Don't know why I bothered, don't think there was anything else on.

  15. Disney has a couple hits with these two.

    Jungle Book - 8/10
    Zootopia - 9/10

I also caught this 15 minute NC-17 flick about a bun trying to seduce a wiener.

  16. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

My Dad used to talk about these guys so I figured I needed to watch the movie at some point in my life. Overall it was better than I expected. I don't believe I've ever seen another Paul Newman movie but I suppose if he were still alive and acting I'd go see them. Robert Redford was pretty good as well. 8/10.

  17. Transporter Refueled: Rise of the prostitutes

I thought the new lead was a good fit for Frank Martin... but the story line is a bizarrely convoluted string of WTF moments. After a certain point you end up hoping everybody dies. Action was OK... they chose to lift a few scenes as a direct remake. But after previous films and TV shows the action felt too familiar and recycled.

    4/10

    Hitman: Agent 47

The story line is a bizarrely convoluted string of WTF moments. Several times I had to re-evaluate if I should bother finishing the movie, incorrectly chosing to go on each time. Basically the story only unfolds because the Agent 47 consistently refuses to assassinate his target, henchmen, or anybody. It's actually hilarious how much he put up with in an era where Superman is neck snapping. Also, they have totally decided to turn characters into literally indestructible superheroes/supervillains.

    4/10

  18. Check out Hombre sometime on Netflix if you're interested in another Paul Newman western.

  19. Elysium

Didn't care for it. The plot and story seem weak and Matt Damon couldn't save it. 6/10

    Truman Show

I always liked this movie but it sure seemed dated when I watched it this time.

  20. Elysium seemed like it should have been better than it was. Aside from a couple of action scenes near the end, it wasn't very good at all.
