Last movie you saw?

  1. Good to also note that all of the shootouts in John Wick 2 occur in less than 10 feet from target.

  2. I loved the first John Wick. Also liked the 2nd one action movie wise, but thought the story left suspension of disbelief dangling by a thread. They've also boxed the 3rd one into a corner.

The puppy getting killed in the first one put me off of it. I get that the whole movie was him getting revenge for the dog. Still very hard to watch though. Kill all the dudes you want, but I really don't like seeing dogs, children, or women get killed.

  4. Grow some balls, mang

  5. Justice League vs. Teen Titans

It was alright. I get confused with the DC character timelines. Starfire is old and Raven is young? 7/10

  6. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

It was somewhat shallow and maybe too short to make much sense but it was fun enough. 6/10

  7. Wonder Woman

It might be the best DC Super Hero movie of all time. It had some stupid spots but overall it was the best Wonder Woman interpretation I've ever seen. I've never really cared for WW's character but this movie changed my mind. 9/10

  8. Power Rangers. It was enjoyable but not what I expected.

  9. Alien: Covenant

It was good but I liked Prometheus better. 7/10.

  10. It Follows

Top tier suspense thriller about an immortal STD zombie. Good acting and realistic characters. Pretty trippy universe setup. No horror movie cliches.

    8/10 - Awesome and different.

  11. I hated that movie and I love horror movies

  12. Would you call this a horror movie? I'm not sure how/where to draw the line. There was like no real gore or excessive violence. It's more like a Hitchcock thriller, imo.

  13. So the villain in this movie is a sexually transmitted disease? Am I getting this right?

  14. it was marketed as a horror movie and the stuff that happens is usual horror movie tropes. there has been a few horror movies lately that got great buzz that I just didn't like.. creep, babadook, it follows. I just ain't feeling it. I watched The Wailing a few months ago and that movie was beautiful.

  15. You can add Get Out to that list of critically acclaimed but lame horror movies. I've also noticed a trend of the critics having absolutely no clue when it comes to horror movies. Shitty movies get super high review scores. Good horror movies get glossed over, with mediocre or negative reviews. I think Cabin in the Woods might be the most egregious disconnect between critics and audiences in the world of horror movies. It was so lame, but the critics loved it for some reason.

  16. The villain is indeed a shape-shifting STD zombie. The movie was more like Vertigo or Rear Window than slasher horror. I caught it on TMC yesterday about 10 minutes in. The caption said it was a horror movie but it wasn't scary, gory, violent, not even a jump scare. Even the only on-screen death was hilarious. The STD zombie fucked the soul out of a kid.

Get Out was garbage. I think it tried to be a hybrid comedy-horror and failed at both. This concept was done to perfection by Dale & Tucker vs Evil.

    Get Out - 2/10
    Dale & Tucker vs Evil - 9.5/10

  17. Cabin in the Woods was awesome. 9/10.

  18. cabin in the woods was good/bad depending on what you were looking to get out of it. if you were looking for a serious horror movie, then it was a waste of time.

for a non serious horror that didnt take itself seriously, it's fun to watch.

I didn't know what to get out of when I watched it since I didn't follow any of the marketing, but I was treading carefully because a bunch of non horror movie fans suggested it. Thor's glorious scene was my favorite and only memorable part of it. but I do have to say that I was kept interested cuz I had no idea where the movie was going.

I'd say that trait is usually what makes a horror movie a winner. It's why I loves The Wailing so much. Plus the climactic build up to the ending sequence was huge.

  19. Joss Whedon hype machine.

Don't Breathe was also pretty shittacular and disgusting. Like L&O:SVU x 1000⁹⁹

  20. The Big Sick

It's a romantic comedy that's not too bad.

    War Machine

I didn't realize who this movie was about until the end. It's meant to be satire but if it's half accurate it gives some insight into the type of guy General McMahon is. It was both interesting and boring.
