    Mary Queen of Scots

They SJW-ized history. It was really bad. I don't know why they couldn't just do something that was historically accurate.

  5. TAG

This wasn't as terrible as I expected lol. Don't get me wrong it's real dumb but for some reason it's also likable. Wouldn't consider it a movie night movie, but a decent casual flick that plays as you do other stuff.

    6/10

Spoilers: Jeremy Renners tag playing superpowers really made me lol:

    Escape Room

It was a mix of ideas from Saw, Hostel, and Cube. It was dumb as hell but it was entertaining seeing annoying idiots die.

    Alita Battle Angel

It had top notch special effects. Anime fans will probably love it.

    Long Shot

Seth Rogan and Charlize Theron had no chemistry. Really unfunny and bad.

    Rocket Man

I was expecting a biopic like Bohemian Rhapsody. This isn't like that at all. It's a really boring and bad musical.

Fair statement. Some of the scenes were like they were lifted right out of manga panels. I'm sure you can guess which battle this is from (written/ illustrated 30 years ago):

It's the first manga to live action movie I've actually liked. Ghost in the Shell was probably my favorite from the 90s, particularly the animated movie in 1995, but the live action movie was atrocious due to a terrible screenplay that gutted the most interesting parts of the story.

  8. Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones

It seems like Chappelle was going for shock over humor. He's a good public speaker but this was a horrible comedy show. 1/5

I think the biggest problem with the latest Chappelle special was that it was boring. The part about the "alphabet people" was sort of amusing I guess (it definitely sent the social justice brigade into a frenzy), but I kind of lost interest after that. Most of the other stuff just kind of fell flat. It felt like he was trying too hard to shock, but none of it was very shocking.

  10. I really enjoyed Chappelle's Sticks and Stone. Reminded me more of Carlin's sensibilities than the latest PC crap.

  11. I've been watching the Toy Story movies on endless repeat, lol. My son loves them. I think he's gong to be Buzz Lightyear for Halloween.

  12. Dave Chappelle: Sticks and Stones

I liked this, it's signature Dave Chappelle. I'm not sure what the shock or controversy is about. I will say the new specials have a much slower pacing and there is a lot more story and setup than punchlines. But I like it, it's different than other comedians.

    8/10

  13. By different do you mean boring?

  14. The Toy Story movies are really great. Arguably some of the best movies of all time.

    Yesterday

It's about a guy who gets thrown into an alternate timeline where a bunch of things in our timeline never happened or never existed, including the Beatles never becoming famous. He becomes famous by singing Beatles songs. Not bad. The premise is goofy, but it was better than I thought it would be. In the alternate timeline John Lennon doesn't get assassinated because he never becomes famous and seems to be living a pretty happy life.

    Toy Story 4

It was okay but I didn't like it as much as the other ones. I actually thought 3 was a perfect place to end the story. Andy gives up his toys and moves on from childish things into adulthood, and a little girl who will cherish them and take care of them gets them. It was sad because it was Andy saying goodbye to his childhood, but it was also hopeful. That was a perfect place to stop, but Disney needs to keep making money.

    The Hustle

They remade Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Large parts of it were a shot for shot remake. It was so bad. Rebel Wilson is not funny at all. Anne Hathaway is really cringey when she tries to do an English accent. You can try to make basically the same movie again, but with no talent it will be bad.

The original Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Michael Caine and Steve Martin is a great movie so watch that instead. Also the original was actually filmed on location in the French Riviera. The new one just did everything with green screens and it was obvious.

  16. I actually enjoy his story telling. But I could see why you'd think it's boring. My brother was bored between the long jokes.

I think I missed a special but can't tell. The way Netflix organizes them is confusing.

  17. Fast and Furious Presents Hobbs and Shaw

    Such a stupid movie

  18. El Camino

A sequel to Breaking Bad about the escape of Jesse Pinkman. It was excellent. Definitely watch this if you like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

  19. I liked El Camino, too. I was a bit nervous about it because Breaking Bad was one of the very few series that has maintained it's extremely high quality from beginning to end, but El Camino maintained its sterling reputation. Impressive showing by netflix to produce Dark Crystal: AoR and El Camino back to back. These are superb examples of how to follow-up great movies and TV shows.
