Tenet It’s so Nolany that it’s almost not worth it. Fancy people talking in one sided conversations and it’s like Memento and Primer had a baby and named it Timecop. It’s probably really good. Of all his crazy great movies with superbly unique ideas, this is the one where he kind of just goes too far in his own head. I need to watch it a few more times. I’m just not sure it’s worth it. It probably is though.
I’ve read there’s gonna be a New Gods movie. Cannot wait for that. They pull that off right and make Darkseid compelling, then it justifies everything DC has done. I just hope they get their head out their ass and embrace the Snyder cut. It is a clearly superior storyline.
I saw this back in theaters when it premiered. it was a fun but didn't understand what they were saying cuz of Nolan's idea of cloudy dialogue sound mixing. watched it again at home with subtitles and the plot was a lot easier to follow due to second watching and understanding the dialogue. I'd say it's worth the second watching. but yeah.. Nolan's best work is always the easy to follow complex plot. Tenet was good but will never be as good as inception or memento due to that.
Justice League Zack Snyder's cut I'm not sure it's fair to say that it's a better movie than the original when it has two additional hours of content. Yes it was better in some ways, but I also found myself fast forwarding through several slow parts.
yeah, it's basically a totally different movie. there was literally no character development in joss whedon's release. snyder's gives cyborg and his father an actual story. it all depends what you felt was missing in the 2017 release. snyder's release addressed pretty much everything for me.
If they don’t release stand alone movies for Cyborg, Flash, and Martian Manhunter now then it’s a waste of a universe and I’ll rely on the Arrowverse and the animated content for DC superhero fun. They don’t even have to end up in the Knightmare - just make these movies.
The Kong story line was a bit of a improbably jump but oh well. Every twist and turn in the movie can be predicted in the first 5 minutes, and that's probably intentional. Like you say, it's just fan service. I probably preferred the last Kong and Godzilla movies over this one but it wasn't bad.
I’ve enjoyed all the movies immensely. This one just wasn’t “the existential question of god creatures and our relation to them”. It was light and cheeky fun with CGI ape face emotes. As a guy I work with put it, “It was the greatest wrestling match I’ve ever seen”. The best part was the lack overly concerned dad character. He was barely in the movie. We don’t need some asshole screaming for his daughter while monsters destroy a city. The monsters were truly the stars and the human characters were plot devices there to keep them going. And it delivered different emotions than awe, anger, and fear of the other movies. We got humor, sadness, contempt... all in 30 seconds of a fight scene. It is so multifaceted that it probably suffers from the sensory overload. But goddamn I love this fucking movie. I couldn’t really imagine a better Godzilla vs Kong flick. Three hours of straight monster battle through space and time with a telepathic mothra? Sounds cool too. Idk I just love this one. I think they hit it out the park.
Mortal Kombat It’s funny, I just watched the new one and then the original from 95 or whenever. I’m not sure which is the better movie. The effects and choreography are really good though. I didn’t like the main character in this one. Thought he was kinda lame.
The Girl with all the Gifts I guess the book and movie where written at the same time which seems odd. The book is only slightly better and both are only mildly entertaining.
Was that a Zombie movie? I think I saw it. Was alright. Nothing special, but how many goddamn ways can anyone keep redoing zombies? They need a 20-30 year break from the genre.
The story was sort of original, maybe creative, but it wasn't very entertaining. The special effect were cheap and it was never scary. The actors nailed it but that doesn't really save it. Dominique Tipper from the Expanse was in it for about 5 minutes. The book at least explains why the camp was overrun by Zombies.
Raya and the Last Dragon Not sure if I liked it. I thought the dragons looked cute creepy. Cruella Kind of a dumb story but Emma Stone makes the movie.
I watched salyut 7. Surprisingly a enjoyable movie. Just watch it with an open mind and try not to think too much about the politics behind it Sent from my ASUS_I001DC using Tapatalk
Army of the Dead It was dumb but entertaining. It's on Netflix. Worth a watch if you like zombie movies. 6/10
Tenet I was only able to make it halfway through this movie. I figure I either stopped from boredom or future me is watching the second half backwards and plans to meet me in the middle in a pincer move to kill this tedious film.
I downloaded Tenet ages ago and it looks so boring I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it. And I normally like Nolan movies.
bfun if you only got halfway through and comprehended that much of the plot, you’re pretty high speed.
