The Deer Hunter I had never watched it all the way through. The Russian Roulette scenes were really emotionally powerful stuff.
Super 8 It was a dumb movie for little kids. Water For Elephants Started off kind of meh, but Christoph Waltz (the SS officer from Inglourious Basterds), plays such a great villain, and that alone made it worth watching. City Island I expected nothing out of this and it was actually quite good. Really funny and well written. Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior Hadn't seen this for a long time. It's one of the most badass post apocalyptic action movies ever made. The Fallout games clearly got most of their inspiration from this movie.
Tron Legacy I wanted to see it in 3D but never got the chance. It was a decent film, the CGI making Jeff Bridges younger was really well done, in fact all of the CGI was. The style of Tron has always appealed to me, I love the futuristic theme with all the neon lights everywhere, very cool. The whole film is kind of like Avatar in a way, it's just a visual feast. Good film.
Rango Seems to share the same soundtrack as Deathspank!! Strange. Anyway the movie trys too hard to be funny and juvenile... so it fails until it gets kinda' good... but it kinda' fails throughout. Win Win Just found it in my Red Box, looked good so I got it. A decent flik about a lost teen who finds a home... oh and some mess about an old dude. But SO not what it's described as. Not funny at all. Worth the buck though...
The Tourist It fell flat because Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie had no romantic chemistry whatsoever. He must have been filming one of those Pirates movies at the same time because he still had dirty pirate teeth. The big twist at the end was also really predictable. Friends With Benefits This movie was the exact opposite. Despite being a bit cliche and lame, it sort of worked because Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis had good chemistry. Mila Kunis gets (mostly) naked in a few scenes, and Timberlake can be pretty funny. Overall, not bad, which is saying a lot because most rom coms flat out suck balls.
Finally watched the new Arthur. It's pretty much like the old one... but the only thing is Jennifer Garner is the woman he rejects. let me repeat that JENNIFER GARNER IS THE WOMAN HE REJECTS!! If this role was played by a less attractive woman (like one with one eye...) it'd be 'charming' but now it's just a fairy tale! JENNIFER GARNER IS THE WOMAN HE REJECTS!! What a crock... it wasn't even funny either, it was just straight chick flick.
Jennifer Garner isn't hot. In fact, she looks like a shemale. She has square cheekbones and what looks like an Adam's apple. If you told me she used to be a dude, I wouldn't bat an eye.
If the gender of Hilary Swank is something you feel is in question, I volunteer to do a full investigation into the matter.
That's what I'm sayin, you can make any woman look rather manly if you just show their face, they can voice a little (prepubescant) boy too *_* Watched 'delirious' cuz the box said it was 'hilarious' I think what they meant was 'bogus' they just spelt it rong. The movie just screams B movie too... it's funny cuz at one point one guy says to the other who falls in love with a celebrity, we're just workin class stiffs we have no buisness with them. Well this is just a B movie, it does nothing to resemble the 'hilarious' quality stuff out there (shouldn't even qualify for the MONIKER 'hilarious' I don't think it pulled any jokes AT ALL!!). Not even good for a laugh... though it might lull you to sleep some day.
kiduldhood My brother was bugging me to watch this film with him yesterday so I finally said ok. It's basically about a day in the life of some inner city London yout's getting up to all sorts of chavvy activities such as getting pregnant at 16, sucking dick for coke and ecstacy, starting fights, not paying taxi fares and calling everyone "blood", everything I hate in yout's these days. But unfortunately I quite enjoyed it. Within 15 minutes of watching it there were about 10 people I wanted to suffer painfully, pricks basically. I didn't really feel for any of the characters because most of the shit that was happening to them was well deserved but about half way through I felt myself actually wanting to see how it all turned out. I did enjoy Trevor's gun dealing Jamaican uncle though. There's something about the way he says "Trevaaar" that makes me smile. I can't find a video of him saying this but here's a taste of the film: Now my brother wants me to watch adulthood and anotherhood, not sure if I can be arsed really.
The Inbetweeners Movie Much more hilarious than I was expecting. Nothing spectacular but it was consistently funny throughout, everyone was loving it. If you like the Inbetweeners then this is a must watch.
Predators (2010) I liked it. I though quality action flicks were a thing of the past so it's nice to catch a good one.
Soul Surfer I have a Hawaiian/ Christian background. This movie was MADE for me no comments needed Limitless Weak Basis/ plot, good acting.
Paul I really wanted to see this movie! (for some reason) Once again the cover says 'hilarious' on it... and I BELIEVED IT! When am I ever gonna learn?? Oh well I will say this, it's the funniest thing I seen in months... I guess... though that aint sayin much. I did see The Hangover like way long ago... that was it. Well anyway this movie isn't so bad... it's just not great. a decent watch not standing out in any way. Well the Comic con thing was cool xD I thouroughly enjoyed the VERY minor character that delivered their RV at Comic Con xD I pretty much know that dude xD
got Amazon Prime today for the free shippin, watched Elizabeth. But nevermind that. My impression of they're video service... well it's cheap... and pretty much worth that too. Not only is it a much lower selection than Netflix was at the begining of the year (I hear Netflix went downhill since the price adjustment, even lost their Starz contract... so they might have less now... but it CAN'T be less than this, I used to not even be able to count the movies on Netflix. Amazon has like 1/5th of that, yes 1/5th of infinity wise guys) plus the compresion and software it uses is terrible. not nearly as easy to use or as many options at all as Netflix.... but it's what, 4 bucks a month WITH free shipping?? easy deal! I saved 15 bucks already.
