Last movie you saw?

  1. You must like Transformers 2 then, lol :p

But seriously, that's a pretty common reaction to it. It has very slow pacing.

  2. I'm not gonna lie. I love the transformers movies as action movies. I thought the 3rd one was nuts. but if you asked me the story of each one.. hell if i know.

my movie preference is strange now though. I used to watch Indie art films/foreign flicks like nobody's business through a span of a few years. now I have no patience for them anymore.. save for a few. I get wood for every mindless holywood film now, although I still watch my share of foreign films. who knows, my preference may shift again next year.

  3. I saw Immortals today and the most memorable bit of my entire time there was the Skyrim commercial before the film, it was utter tripe, but the chick that played Athena was pretty damn hot.

  4. Hot chick? Has my attention.

  5. The Soloist

The subject matter was important and it was based on a true story. Sadly this is what happens to people who are severely mentally ill in a country that doesn't have universal healthcare. They end up homeless, when they could lead normal lives with medication. In this case the guy could have had a great life with treatment. He was a gifted Julliard trained musician who happened to have schizophrenia. He ended up on the streets because he didn't get the help he needed.

  6. J Edgar

Though I enjoy rooting for the bad guys, it's nice to root for the good guys again. I came strictly for the historical significance, not for the gay :/.

  7. Fright Night

I liked it, and this was not a movie I was expecting anything out of. Kind of funny and suspenseful at the same time.

Also, Imogen Poots is hot. Almost Amber Heard or ScarJo hot.

  8. Contagion

It started off strong and then kind of went nowhere. I guess I expected more given the cast. They blow the disease up to be this big world ending pandemic, but then a vaccine is quickly found, and it all just ends up feeling pointless and anticlimactic. It's a movie about a non-event. It was clearly influenced by all of the SARS and H1N1 paranoia from a few years ago.

  9. Gorky Park

Faceless skulls, Soviets, Lee Marvin, and growling Sables. Overall, quite a good '80s flick if you don't mind the fact that it's relentlessly grim.

  10. Your Highness

It started off stupid in a bad way and finished stupid in a good way. I had some laughs.

  11. Super 8

Wen't into it thinking it would be rubbish after Monkey said it wasent that good but it was okay. Felt a bit like the Goonies with the kids, and also an alien and army conspiracy too.

  12. It was a movie with obnoxious, screaming little kids, and you know how much I love those. If you enjoyed other movies in the screaming kid genre, like Goonies or Sandlot, you would enjoy Super 8.

Seriously, little kids need to shut the fuck up. The main reason I cancelled my Xbox Live account and sold my Xbox was because I couldn't deal with the screaming kids. PC gaming is mostly adults.

  13. I do hate them, but the film was enjoyable. That bitch from the Tom Cruise war of the worlds I wanted to strangle though.

    Whats Sandlot?

  14. the trailers totally reminded me of Cloverfeild. Just without the big giant head of destruction.

  15. Contagion

The trailer looked like it would be a great film but it was a very slow start for me. The last part was quite good though.

    7/10

  16. Yeah, I liked certain aspects of Contagion, but the pacing was very off. It should have been a relentless thriller, but instead is was slow and uneven. I thought it started off very creepy, but then it really slowed down. They also found the vaccine way too quickly and easily, which made the rest of the movie feel anticlimactic.

Also, I really like Kate Winslet as an actress, but I felt like she was wasted in this movie. Her subplot really didn't go anywhere and she croaks. I think it could have been cut and the movie wouldn't have lost anything.

I did like the subplot with Jude Law, as I'm sure there would be opportunistic scumbags and corporations trying to exploit a bad situation like the one shown. I also liked that most of the science wasn't too far off.

  17. Agreed with the Jude Law parts, but did you see his top teeth lol. The best parts were the Matt Damon sub plot.

  18. Silence of the Lambs

I really didn't like this movie the first time I saw it. This time I thought it was great.

    Inside Man

This movie fooled me into thinking it was brilliant but by the end I realised how stupid it was.

  19. I liked inside man. my favorite part was when they were interviewing the little black boy.

  20. Inside Man was a dumb movie trying to be smart, kind of like Inception.
