Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix As much as it pains me to say it I've not seen a Harry Potter film I didn't think was a good film. I've seen 1, 2, 8 and 5, in that order.
I'm just watching them as they come to my attention. I saw the first two on consecutive christmases, I saw the final one in te cinema recently and my parents were watching the 5th one last night so I thought I'd take an extremely rare break from gaming to watch it. Monkey can say what he wants about those films they're still better than half the crap he watches.
Their's EIGHT of those bleemin things? damn. Well I might just buy the bluray and watch all of em in a single sitting some day... they ARE directed by Petedr Jackson aren't they? They can't be THAT bad. At least the subject is a bit more interesting than Twighlight...
ya all directed by peter jackson. it gets anti-climatic when harry gets the ring to tatooine though. he gets all torn up until he hears gandalf say, "use the force, harry"
NOW I know your lying! Gandalf is a Quinten Taranteeno character. He busts out the auto-gatling twin shooters from his nostrils any time someone even LOOKS at him wrong! Dat dude is so bad he took Chuck Norris and Samuel L Jackson to school all in his lunch break. He has so much swagger the Axe marketers are paying HIM rights to use the idea (He sued them in court for it, recommended his lawyer to Apple).
Tropic Thunder Watched this again the other night. Robert Downey Jr is fucking hilarious in blackface and totally deserved the Oscar nomination he got for his part. He has some classic lines, like the full retard thing, "what do you mean you people," and where he starts talking about how the N word has kept black people down for 400 years. The fake trailers at the beginning are also classic, and I nearly died laughing at Simple Jack. The only real problem with this movie is that it's about 30 minutes too long. It kind of drags in the second half. Other than that I still think it's one of the best comedies I've seen.
I don't see how black face RDJ isn't racist but brown face guy from Short Circuit is. Either way Tropic Thunder stars Ben Stiller and that's reason enough to not watch it.
Because Tropic Thunder is doing it on purpose as a spoof whereas with Short Circuit they wanted a proper Indian Character but instead of hiring an Indian Actor got a white man to act out every type of Indian stereotype known to man.
Short Circuit is such a shitty movie that I had forgotten it even existed until you guys brought it up. Didn't it have the guy from those godawful Police Academy movies in it?
Steve Guttenburg yes, I would actually say that his worst work was 3 Men and a Baby/Little Lady. He only did bad films, its no wonder no one hires him anymore.
He's one of the worst actors ever. If you think Short Circuit is a good movie or one of the best movies ever, you need to fucking see some more movies. Really what made this a good movie that you guys would bring it up in the best movies thread? Did Steve Guttenberg give a performance for the ages? Was it the white guy playing an Indian guy because they were too lazy and racist to get a real Indian? Was it the dated stop motion photography for the robots? Short Circuit is a fucking crap movie, and if you really think it's on par with The Godfather and Pulp Fiction you should probably go kill yourself for the good of the gene pool.
