Denzel was awesome in Training Day and a few of his other movies were pretty Oscar worthy as well. I'm still not sure why you would cast him opposite Ryan Reynolds.
I am thinking of using my amazon free rental on john carter. I'm really curious to see how bad it is.
Limitless If you can overlook some plot holes it’s a good movie that shows drug addictions can have happy endings too.
Ryan Reynolds = ultra cheap Jason Lee. Without the skate awesomeness.....or talent. Avengers - totally loved it, iron man & hulk steal the film.
Wanderlust It started off pretty funny, but lost steam as it went. It earns a few points though for making fun of hippies and new age stuff. I felt cheated that I didn't get to see Jennifer Aniston naked. Apparently she was filmed topless, but it got cut out. Lame.
Jeff Who Lives at Home It had a pretty good mix of stoner humor and drama. 21 Jump Street It was actually pretty damn funny, and I really expected it to suck. The Raid: Redemption. I think the little kid getting shot at the beginning turned me off to it. It was just senseless violence without much of a story or characters to back it up. And not in a good, fun way either. More in a gross, depressing way.
War Horse Much less sappy than I thought it would be. Some good cinematography and battle scenes. Pretty decent movie overall.
I love horses. My mother and my grandparents owned horses when I was growing up. I rode for years. Mostly did jumping. My grandparents actually owned a farm up in Vermont where they bred Morgan horses.
What, you think I'm just some dork who does nothing but play video games? I spent a lot of my childhood and teenage years helping my mother and grandparents train horses and I'm an excellent rider. I also spent awhile learning how to drive horse carts and carriages. And I really enjoyed jumping, which is both really fun and really dangerous (I've had a few nasty spills). I don't see what's so faggy about horseback riding. Knights and cavalry officers rode horses into battle. It's in the olympics. I'm really failing to see what's gay or lame. And yes, horses are fantastic animals. They're very loyal to their owners, much like dogs.
I went to a horse farm once... it smelled so bad. All the people there pretended like nothing was wrong.
What do you think is going to happen once the zombie apocalypse comes?!?! I'm sticking with cmdr. He can pull the carriage while I chill in it.
Melancholia Very bizarre and horribly depressing, but also well made in a lot of ways with a lot of really interesting imagery and great cinematography. I'm still not really sure what to think of it. The first part of the movie is about a depressed person who can't cope with what should be a happy occasion, and the second is about a happy person who can't cope with a depressing situation. You do get to see Kirsten Dunst completely nude, and she has a rockin body, so there's that too I guess.
After carefully analyzing the curious structure, unusual premise, and striking imagery, I've ultimately concluded that Kirsten Dunst has a nice rack.
Melancholia was fairly decent on an artistic standing, although not overwhelmingly impressive either. Many of the scenes showing the planet sharing the sky with the moon were quite stunning... and then of course the nude scenes . I liked the feeling of helpless dread that engulfed the final parts of the movie, although the ultimate ending in itself fell a little bit flat for me. Last movie I watched was Prometheus. It delivered, I wasn't sure exactly how impacting it would be in a horrific sense, but it was just like Alien in this regard. It was a different movie for sure, but close enough in the way it was done to have a similar, yet more modern feeling overall. I liked how the universe has been expanded upon a little without really giving up too much definite info.
