Last movie you saw?

  1. not so much a remake as it is a new movie in the series. this is where he takes interest in Gwen Stacey and gets into the lizardman conflict. they'll probably introduce kraven the hunter at some point too

it just happens that they chose a brand new direction for the film.

  2. I felt it was much time soon. The origin story just brought back memories of the 2002 movie.

I don't know what it is but the new movie feels like it's missing something. I wasn't as engrossed as I was with the original.

Garfield plays a good Spiderman, but doesn't work as peter parker

  3. What you say is true and I totally agree, but the film was very good nonetheless. I think Andrew Garfield (who's older than me which was a shock to be honest) is a much more interesting Peter Parker than Toby Maguire. There's a bit fairly early on where Spidey has fun messing around with a car thief, it's funny stuff.

    @khaid

It really is a reboot. He's still in school and Uncle Ben dies again. Either it's a reboot or he's discovered alternate dimension time travel without telling us.

  4. Who is Taylor Kitsch, and why does Hollywood keep trying to make him happen? This guy has been in three megaflops in a row now. If I'm not mistaken, John Carter was literally the biggest movie flop in history. The guy has zero charisma and a ridiculous name. Why did they think he could carry three very expensive movies? Or was this all some kind of tax write off scam or something?

  5. Seen a load of films recently such as X-Men first class and fright night but didn't day anything. Might when I next use PC.

Anyway just watched cowboys and aliens. It was alright, decent enough actiony film I suppose.

Will probably watch paranormal activity 3 tomorrow as the wife wants to but the asylums paranormal entity has just started so we are currently watching that. Its gonna be a crap fest but that is probably part of the fun.

  6. I was wrong, there is no fun to be had watching this piece of shit.

  7. I've been watching a lot of old 007 movies lately, which has just reinforced my feeling that Daniel Craig is the shittiest Bond, and sucks nutsack compared to Sean Connery or even Roger Moore.

  8. They have been showing all the old Connery/Moore films over here on Sundays. I haven't been watching as I had a bit of a 007 splurge myself a couple of years ago but I have to agree they are much more interesting than the newer ones. I didn't really like Brosnan either though to be honest, things haven't been going well for a long while in the Bond universe IMO.

A lot of people have Connery as their #1 but I prefer Moore, enjoyed his films more.

  9. King of New York

Christopher Walken gives a great performance, mostly because he's allowed to ham it up to ridiculous levels. Unfortunately, practically everything else about this movie is terrible. I was amazed by how bad it was given the caliber of some of the people involved. Most of the acting and dialogue is laughable, the action scenes are cartoonish, and it never seems to come together as a cohesive whole due to a lot of bad writing and direction. The early 90s music and styles are cheesy beyond belief.

That being said, there are a few parts that are so campy, they're hilarious; like when Walken pulls up in a limousine, rolls down the window, and blows away CSI Miami's David Caruso with a sawed off shotgun.

  10. I saw that recently, what he says is true! Just an early 90's vigilante justice Dirty Hairy clone.

  11. Pretty much. It was a like a Dirty Harry vigilante movie ripoff crossed with a Scarface ripoff, but it was so ineptly made that it didn't work on either level. I laughed at a lot of it, but I don't think it was meant to be funny.

  12. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

The acting was good and the story was interesting, but I wasn't feeling the romantic chemistry between the leads.

  13. Haywire

I think it could have been better. It didn't hold my attention.

    Brave

It's no Shrek but I liked it. The visuals were very nice.

    The Amazing Spider-Man

It was good but maybe not as good as the first one in the last series.

    Moonlight Kingdom

I liked this movie a lot. If you feel like watching something a little different you should check it out.

  14. The Dark Knight Rises.

Weakest of the the films. Its good but the last twenty minutes are a bit of a letdown and the "twist" is visible a mile off. Bane is a bit of a poor villain too..but then i think that might be down to having to follow Ledgers joker. In short the first two acts work really well but its let down by a very unimpressive third act. Still worth seeing though if you can see it in IMAX. Avengers remains the comic book film to be beaten

  15. How bad is Anne Hathaway as catwoman?

  16. I watched a video review, and all three reviewers actually said she's pretty decent. Evidently they didn't camp it up with her, which would have been a disaster. I'm curious to see it, although everyone seems to agree with Ichi that it's the weakest of the three.

  17. Surprisingly, she's actually a very well rounded character which i.didn't expect. Her skintight outfit is also quite impressive. Its worth mentioning that although she's referred to as a cat burglar at no time does she, or anyone else, use the name Catwoman.

  18. Only the editor of the daily bugle has to come up with a catchy superhero name for everyone.

  19. I just watched REC 3 and omg, wtf. How could they go so wrong.

The first REC was a genius film. Then REC 2 was just as good, although I have pretty big complaints about where they took the story. And then REC 3.. this monstrosity...

  20. Insomnia

A pretty good early Nolan movie. This was probably Al Pacino's last good role.
