You'd have to wine and dine them first and, given your dislike of fancy restaurants, would make it very unlikely you'd even get to the locked room stage. Unless it's a hostage situation. Your avatar looks the type.
I actually liked the new Total Recall a lot more than I thought I would. It was pretty good as a standalone if you just ignore the first movie. The gravity train that can reach the other side of the planet in 30 minutes was an awesome idea. The women were hot. Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad is an excellent villain as always. It's just that the first one is such an awesome piece of action and sci-fi, with so many classic scenes and one liners and so much hilariously over the top Arnie goodness that anything is going to pale in comparison. Heck, I've read the PKD short story that Total Recall is based on, and it's actually not as good as the Arnie film if you can believe that!
Conan I think it was a total success at replicating the feel of the original movies and perhaps better in most ways.
Skyfall. I didn't like it that much. I was OK but had a giant flaw I'm having a hard time overlooking.
What was that? I enjoyed it, story kinda disappeared in the latter half but it was an enjoyable ride.
Ah Bond is always failing his missions and letting the Bond girls die. And this is pretty much THE Bond girl
Deathwatch It felt low budget but over all not bad. The WWI setting was a nice break from the usual horror settings.
Looper I'm going to be the dissenting opinion and say this movie was pretty awful. It was full of massive plot holes. Whatever CGI they were doing on Third Rock kid's face to make him look like Bruce Willis was distracting. His face had a weird plastic quality to it. He looked like a character from Mass Effect. I think the biggest problem though was that it couldn't decide what kind of movie it wanted to be. One moment it was a Firefly/Serenity style futuristic western where people are using cowboy slang and shooting six shooters. Then it seemed like it was trying to be Terminator 2, with a guy protecting a kid and his mom from a future assassin. And finally it turned into Stephen King's Firestarter. The changes in tone were jarring. One minute Bruce Willis is the good guy, and the next he's murdering children. It also had very bad pacing. For an action movie, it was a real snoozer. Seriously what the fuck did I just watch, and why was it so well reviewed? Emily Blunt with a shotgun talking about shooting vagrants was about the only good thing about this movie.
That's why it took me a day to form an opinion on the movie. I didn't know how to judge it. I didn't even realize they did that. I just thought the guy had aged really poorly.
Yah, after my initial fairly negative thoughts a couple of weeks back I think even less of Looper now. The main problem besides the massive plot holes was the complete lack of an idea as to what it wanted to be. It was all over the place, mimicking many popular movies in sections but quickly shifting to something else.
Highlander There can be only one POS movie like this. Worst fight scenes I've ever seen in a legitimate movie and the special effects were horrible. Not to mention the guy has supposedly lived for 4 centuries but his English still sucks.
Was it the first time you've seen it? I liked it when I first saw it but it dated badly when I saw it again.
A film series that does need a reboot. The TV show was lame but I enjoyed the films back when they were good.
It was my first time. I’ve always heard good stuff about it but I was disappointed. The fight scenes were just horrible. I suppose I’ll have to watch the newer ones to see if they get any better.
The sequels are even worse. Highlander 2 is universally considered one of the worst films ever made. Remember how Sean Connery died? Yeah, they bring him back. With a time machine. Also, the immortals are really aliens. The problem is that you went into Highlander with the wrong mindset. It's supposed to be bad. It's supposed to be 80's cheese. That's the whole point. Highlander is basically a two hour Queen music video with sword fights.
