  1. Equilibrium

Slow at first but good at the end. Like Gattaca meets The Matrix.

  2. you watched evolution?? how many eons did that take place?

  3. He said he watched Equilibrium. You know, the Matrix knockoff with Christian Bale.

Equilibrium is a terrible B-movie, but it's also really entertaining. The fact that it takes itself so seriously leads to a lot unintentional hilarity, and it has some really over the top action scenes.

  4. Lies, Monkey! Its an awesome film.

  5. aw well evolution woulda been cool :p bfun could use some polygons

  6. I really liked it. It was like Batman without the bat suit and bad voice modulation.

  7. Some movies are good. Some are bad. Some are so bad they're good. Equilibrium falls into the last category.

  8. I guess you are right. I just like the film for some reason. It has Sean Bean in it too.

  9. Polar Express. Great Christmas movie.

  10. Isn't that the one where Tom Hanks and Tom Hanks go and do something, possibly involving Tom Hanks?

  11. Yeah thats the one.

  12. The Dark Knight Rises

Not as good as the second film, but still a rather successful trilogy conclusion by Hollywood standards. Anne Hathaway nailed it as Selina Kyle, and the plot twist towards the end regarding Ra's al-Ghul's child was effectively hidden and actually made Bane's actions in Gotham seem more plausible. Nolan nearly went off the tracks with Bruce Wayne's Karate Kid style rehab in the prison, but managed to redeem it.

  13. The Bourne Legacy

The dude from the Hurt Locker was a decent lead, but the movie just wasn't that great. It was only tangentially related to the earlier movies, many of the action scenes dragged on too long, and the whole thing just sort of felt like a cash grab.

  14. Life of Pi

I'll give it 7/10. I saw it at an IMAX theater, and the use of 3D may be the best I've seen. I thought director with vision would be able to utilize 3D in a manner that could go well beyond the occasional item flying at you, and this movie is evidence that proves my theory. Considering Ang Lee was behind visually stunning movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, I'm not terribly surprised at how mesmerizing this looked. The effects are also superb, particularly the animals, which were so good that it was at times difficult to tell from real life. It's pretty decently acted by the cast, although there were no major standouts, either. The storytelling was decent, but the format seemed like it could have been modified a bit further to adapt it to what works best in film rather than a book. I've never read the novel, but I'm assuming that it used the same format, which I suspect worked better as a book. Still well worth seeing if you are near an IMAX. Do make sure you see this while it is still on the big screen.

  15. Finally watched End of Watch last night. Very good movie. Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena play LAPD riding around and filming themselves. Jake doesn't really look good as a bald dude.. kind of a weird look for him really. Anyhow, the character development was very well done.

  16. It was a really good movie, I just hated the shaky cam and the end was horribly depressing.

  17. I just dont get peoples love with shaky cams anymore. They personally bore me with the exception of chronicle.

  18. I think the shaky cam was a big part of the reason I never got that into the Bourne movies even though everyone else seemed to love them. I find it distracting and hard to watch.

  19. Chronicle was a pile of poop
