Last movie you saw?

  1. Is it the second or third that has the ass blasters?

  2. Ass attacks? Well you just ruined the third movie for me.

  3. Tremors is good but the sequels aren't worth bothering with.

  4. All the Tremors are worth watch. They are all so bad but very watchable. The over the top guy with military armory is my favorite.

Also, Boondock Saints is better than Tarentinos entire film catalog.

  5. Boondock Saints is one of the worst movies ever made.

Meanwhile, Tarantino has never made a bad movie, and Pulp Fiction is probably the best film ever made. The man is a genius, and people will still be studying his movies many years from now.

    .....

    Argo

Pretty good. Having Ben Affleck in a movie used to mean it was shit, but he's turned himself around in recent years.

  6. I have to agree and find Boondock Saints to be horrifically overrated by a certain crowd. It's alright though, just not great in any way really.

  7. Les Miserables

    Pure torture.

  8. ^ you didn't see that one coming?

  9. Looked good in the commercials.

  10. Musicals are for fags.

  11. I saw Wicked and loved it. :-*

  12. I don't have a problem with musicals, although they are certainly not my favorite genre.

Les Miserables just drags on forever. This director and DP seem to have no idea where to put a camera or how to put together a scene. Constant odd angles and closeups. Painfully close. Very few of the cast should subject anyone to their singing in the shower, let alone expose millions to this. The writing was just wretched. I couldn't believe it was this bad. I was more miserable than any character in that movie.

  13. Zero Dark Thirty 7.5/10

Although I consider it to be a good movie overall, excellent in some ways, the presentation of torture and interrogations still bothers me a great deal. I think the average joe would get the impression that torture was effective and a key tool used to capture bin Laden, which is a load of bullshit. They did at least mention Tora Bora and some other key things, and the big siege sequence was superbly constructed. I wish they were just as meticulous about some other aspects instead of goin' DudeBro at times. Too friendly to the corporate media version of the story for my tastes. Still definitely worth seeing for the last 30 minutes. Chastain was very good most of the time, although you could tell they had her go Hollywood hammy way too often. I know she's capable of far greater nuance and subtlety from her other movies.

  14. The Impossible

This was a pretty good movie about the 2004 Tsunami. I thought Naomi Watts was quite good, and the scenes during and right after the Tsunami are really terrifying stuff. However, I thought a few of the sentimental scenes were a bit overlong and overdone, especially towards the end, and the second half of the movie kind of drags.

  15. Skyfall

It wasn't a total disaster like Quantum of Solace, but it wasn't really good either. I still think Daniel Craig sucks as bond, and I'm waiting for them to stop ripping off Bourne and give us an actual 007 movie with hot chicks and gadgets. I guess the French chick in this one was alright, but you could blink and miss her part in the movie. They did get the villain right in this one though. Javier Bardem really did play the part of a classic Bond villain. Also, what the hell kind of ending was that? Bond fails his mission to protect M? Seriously?

  16. Deadfall = wtf

  17. Watched Dogtooth. WTFTFTFTF

  18. Three Stooges- I actually loved it! OK it is kinda' dumbed down and junk but it's still worth the watch, what Dumb and Dumberer SHOULD have been... and look! it's by the Farrelly brothers...

  19. Darkman

A Liam Neeson superhero movie from 1990 by Sam Raimi I had seen as a kid and just caught again on cable. It's over the top violent and cartoonish like the Evil Dead movies. It has actually aged surprisingly well, even the early CGI in the skin creation scenes. If you like Sam Raimi stuff like the Evil Dead movies or Drag me to Hell, it's worth a watch.

  20. We watched darkman at high school in an English lesson for some reason. Was OK from what I remember.
