Last movie you saw?

  1. I would smash her so bad.

  2. Dark Skies

Take Insidious or Paranormal Activity, but substitute aliens for evil spirits. Except aliens traveling across the galaxy just to mess with a family is pretty dumb.

    Side Effects

It was a delightfully trashy psychological thriller with lesbians. I enjoyed it.

    The Place Beyond the Pines

Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper both give great performances. Unfortunately, it never feels like a cohesive movie, but rather a collection of connected stories. The early scenes with Ryan Gosling robbing banks on a motorcycle are great, but the movie slows down, and never seems to regain the momentum it had early on. The second story with the corrupt cops is definitely much less interesting, and I wasn't really into the third story about the druggie high school kids at all. Overall, it has some good elements, but feels like less than the sum of its parts.

    Mama

Feral kids raised by an evil spirit seems like a creepy enough concept for a horror movie, but the CGI was laughably bad, and the ending was terrible.

  3. Dredd

It was alright, wasn't expecting what it turned out to be at all.

  4. Would you murder her vagina?

  5. Yeah being huge tends to do that.

  6. Super

Pretty entertaining and odd at the same time.

  7. Is that the film with Rainn Wilson?

  8. Ugh, yes it's heavily implied that it does. After recovering from having her arm torn off by the shark, the girl breaks down in tears and is like "how is this god's plan for me !?!"

  9. Yes it is

  10. I saw the beginning of that but it seemed a bit slow and depressing. Is it worth sticking with?

I saw Hot Rod last night. Really enjoyed it, had a nice 80s comedy feel. The bit set to a John Farnham song really made me laugh.

  11. It speeds up and gets funny. I agree the first 15-20 minutes are slow and unfunny.

  12. Jack Reacher. I was entertained, but nothing spectacular. I'm not familiar with the book character though, don't know if that made it better or worse.

  13. Tom Cruise seems perfectly cast for a character named Jack Reacharound.

  14. I heard from somewhere that the character is supposed to be a big guy.. like 6'3 or something. So it makes casting Tom Cruise for this role sort of silly. But at the same time, like you, I watched it without knowing anything about the book character and was entertained too. It sort of reminded me of the entertainment level of Lincoln Lawyer. Entertaining enough that it would be a good TV movie, but didn't seem movie theater level.

  15. Looper:

Thought it was an okay film. Did not like the main character much and this film could have been better.

  16. The Woman In Black

Have to say I was a bit disappointed, it was supposed to be a really scary film but it was all really predictable and as a result I didn't really jump once. It did seem to make the wife jump however but she is a girl and so I think this skews the results somewhat.

  17. Arnold Schwarzenegger's Last Stand:

Standard action film but enjoyable as is all his action films. He is looking a bit old now and his acting wasent that great but he still delivers.

  18. You just described most Arnie films.

  19. Exactly, and they are all enjoyable. ;D

  20. Jack Reacher

As others have said already, it was entertaining enough, but it felt more like a made for TV movie or maybe an overlong episode of a detective or CSI show rather than something you would pay to see in a theater. Tom Cruise seemed miscast as he doesn't have the right physique to make the character believable. From what I understand, Jack Reacher is supposed to be a tall, muscular guy, probably more like Arnie back when he was in his prime or Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Tom Cruise had the attitude down, but I didn't find him believable as someone who could beat up five guys at once. He's too small.
