22 Jump Street I expected nothing out of the first movie, and was surprised that it was actually really funny. I expected this one to be funny, and was surprised that it started off a bit slow and dull, and didn't actually get funny until later in the movie. It was decent, but not as good as the first one. I did like the montage of Jump Street sequels at the end though.
Sin City 2 Holy crap this movie was terrible. The attempt to make Josh Brolin look like Clive Owen was hilariously bad. What was the point of Third Rock Kid's card playing storyline? It went nowhere, and just sort of nonchalantly ends with him getting shot in the face and is never mentioned again. All State Car Insurance Commercial Man was a poor replacement for Michael Clarke Duncan. And the Bruce Willis/Jessica Alba storyline really didn't need to continue. It was resolved pretty well in the first movie. About the only good thing about this movie was seeing Eva Green naked. Speaking of Eva Green, normally she's a great actress, but the dialogue was so bad in this it didn't seem like she had much to work with really. I would say they waited too long to make a sequel, but none of the storylines seemed to have much of a point. And while the original Sin City was a great film, it worked well as a standalone film and was not crying out for a sequel.
How to train your dragon 2. Good film, one of those ones where watching it in 3D is a treat. I would definitely recommend that you watch the first one before moving on to its sequel. Overall, if you are tired from seeing too many Disney Princess rubbish that spouts occasionally, this movie is definitely one to watch.
Oculus It was some malarkey about a sinister mirror that kills people and was full of cheap jump scares. I knew the moment I saw the hook thing the chick had set up to kill the mirror that eventually someone would get impaled on it, and sure enough they did. It was pretty dumb, but I didn't really care about any of that because I was too mesmerized by Karen Gillian, who is one of the hottest redheads I've seen. How did I not know about this chick? I guess she's been languishing on bad British TV shows until now.
22 Jump Street: I enjoyed the first and the second one did not disappoint, but was basically more of the same which was fine for me. A few hints in it about a third film but that could just be a joke the writers put in. X men: Days of Future Past: An X men film that was finally good after the last few films(Entertaining but not anything great) and it opens up possibility's for the universe again since it was basically retconned but fixing it in a non shite way. A nice teaser about the next one featuring Apocalypse and his four horseman which should be quality if they can do it right.
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 I could tell that the writers had a fun time making this movie which in turn made it a fun movie. Nothing too special but also not crap.
Most people prefer the first one but I like them the save. Also speaking about this film, they are making a 26 episode TV show of it before the food first rains down.
Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa Saw this at the cinema and thought it was ok but a bit disappointing. Watched the bluray thinking it might be better on repeat viewing but it was far worse. Just didn't really have many laughs or stand out moments. A real pity.
The Cabin in the Woods This movie had me really confused for the first 30 minutes but once I figured it out I liked it. I'd love to see a sequel but it probably wont happen.
Sex Tape Moronic garbage. How would someone be smart enough to set up a cloud backup but not know how to delete things from it? The only good part was Jack Black getting angry when they smashed one of his porn servers, and asking them if they were saboteurs from a bunch of rival porn sites, all of which have hilarious names and all of which are real sites. Wish I Was Here Good in parts. Melodramatic and trying way too hard in others. Also it feels like a lot of other movies, some of which Zach Braff was even in, such as Garden State.
The Book of Life Looked like Grim Fandango and Little Big Planet made a movie inside of a Casa Bonita restaurant. It was alright.
