I remember Jessica Chobot has being a big Mass Effect fan cheerleader for quite awhile, but I certainly did not want to see or hear her in it. I know her from IGN mostly, of which I'm not much of a fan. It seems like she tends to be an Xbox fangirl and has appeared on MS LIVE stuff. She would not receive any attention if not for her looks and some of the photos. However, I can't understand how you could question her classiness. What evidence do you have of that?
However, I can't understand how you could question her classiness. What evidence do you have of that?
It was mostly seeing photos like this when I looked her up: Yvonne Strahovski is classy. I'm not thrilled they replaced her with a gutter skank.
Lol. If you had an Xbox you'd definitely know who Jessica Chobot is. Every week they have a strategized video from IGN hosted by Jess where she gives you tips and tricks to the latest games. I've been hearing a lot of people are pissed off with how ME3 ends. I don't want to spoil anything though so I won't say why...
Don't worry, it's literally the very last few seconds and you won't see anything of relevance and there's no talking from the characters. http://youtu.be/I_H3uWLW3N4
I don't know the specifics, but I do know that the ending pretty much comes down to "flip a switch to pick your ending" and that none of your earlier choices really matter.
It sounds like a real kick in the nuts to people who obsessed over creating perfect ME characters in the previous two games. You get the same ending as people who half assed it through those games. Spoilers Also, I've heard the mass effect relays are destroyed. Which leads me to my next point. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that Mass Effect borrowed its backstory almost entirely from Freespace. In those games you had an unstoppable machine race called the Shivans who would return with a massive fleet to wipe out organic life whenever it reached a certain technological level. They had put together a system of FTL nodes so that organic races would develop along a certain course and could be easily dealt with. The Terrans and Vasudans initially believe the Shivans are just a myth, and that the technology they've found and reverse engineered was created by another race called The Ancients that went extinct tens of thousands of years ago. The reality is that the Ancients didn't develop the technology, and this is a cycle of death that has been going on for a very long time. In Freespace, stopping the Shivans comes down to destroying FTL nodes since the Alliance is badly outmatched in combat. The Vasudan homeworld is destroyed and Earth ends up getting cut off from the rest of the galaxy. There are other similarities too. In Freespace 2, there's a pro-human extremist group that's very similar to Cerberus. They want to use Shivan technology to make humanity stronger and believe allying with aliens is a mistake. It's not a bad thing. Freespace had an amazing story, but unfortunately it's a game that very few people played. Bioware probably didn't think anyone would notice.
I'm really enjoying this the more I play it. Building up war assets to fight the reapers actually gives you a reason to do the side quests and go exploring. I've heard you actually do get a better ending where Earth is saved and Shepard survives if you have very high war assets and chose to destroy the reapers. That means you need to import a good ME2 character and do all the side quests. It's interesting to see how choices you made in the first two games carry over. I was annoyed by those two new characters, but you can avoid them. They're really not a big part of the game once you get beyond the first few hours and the game opens up. And your old favorites make a return. I also like the way they've simplified managing weapons and their mods. All told, I would say I like this just as much as the two earlier Mass Effect games. I might even say I like it more because they've done away with the tedious armor and weapon micromanagement, and the planet scanning is now only a small part of the game.
I've completed ME3, and I didn't find it as satisfying as ME2 overall. I wish there were more options and less linearity, and the ending was questionable. I'm going to have to try the conclusion again because there's finally an important dialogue branch and I didn't have quite enough to pick it despite having a nearly full renegade bar. I have re-speced the character for the reputation bonus and may check to see if there's anything else to do. I can understand wanting to have less total characters in terms of storytelling, but make sure more than half of them are good characters if you pare down the options that much. I really missed all the loyalty missions from ME2, some of the best missions from the series. BTW, there is a boss battle near the end but prior to the final mission that is brutal, at least on Insanity. It really pissed me off, and an Adept isn't ideal for this battle, although it was handy for clearing out the underlings. Having Energy Drain wouldn't be a bad idea before you start a place called Chronos Station. Energy Drain is a really useful power in this game, as it steals shields, removing the enemy's shield and regenerating your own. It also damages barriers, which is a change from ME2 if memory serves.
Mass Effect 2 is an impossible act to follow. It's undeniably one of the greatest games of all time, and it had an impeccable ending and likeable characters. They could have never made another Mass Effect game, and I would have been fine with that, that's how good the ending to ME2 was. I don't think ME3 is as good, but I also don't understand why people are being such crybabies about it. You would swear it was the worst game ever based on some of the user reviews, like people had just played Big Rigs or Duke Nukem Forever the way they were reviewing it. From what I've played I would say it's better than ME1, but not as good as ME2.
It seemed like ME3 kind of fizzled out towards the end, and some of the characters weren't so great. I've played it tons, though. I have played the multiplayer quite a bit, and I've played through Insanity once.
Is it even worth finishing then? It seems pretty good where I'm at now. I'm guessing it must jump the shark pretty hard to get so much criticism.
Holy shit are people being crybabies about the ending. Reporting Bioware to the feds over the ending of a game? Now I have to see this ending. Bioware must have pulled off an epic feat of trolling. http://kotaku.com/5894278/mass-effect-3-fan-complains-to-the-feds-over-the-games-ending?tag=mass-effect
I'm told the ending wasn't made yet, you'll be given it in an upcoming dlc in which EA will no doubt charge you at least $15 for. After reading that I'm guessing it's just unfounded rumor... but certainly not beyond something EA would stoop down to, after all they did invent the on disc 'DLC'. OK Capcom also did it weeks later but... still everything about ME3 is a PR nightmare.
Knowing EA, it wouldn't surprise me at all if this was an elaborate plan to charge your for DLC with a better ending, or DLC that continues on after the ending. Also, not only was that launch day DLC a dick move, but the content itself blew goats. That angry Jamaican crabman is like the lamest character ever. And his ray gun was a piece of shit that I swapped out for something else at the first opportunity.
EA are going to release a 'better ending', they've explicitly said it themselves. It disgusts me honestly.
