    From Notch's update, it looks like Minecraft.net is taking a bit of a hammering lately whilst they're trying to migrate to the cloud or something.

    Any luck?

    Ah, I see, "Worlds must be converted, this may take a while"

    I just used yours and it seems to have worked. Come and join.

    Or possibly not.... why didn't the map transfer properly? Ok I might try and put the old map in again.

    I'm getting timeouts.

    The maps need to be converted to the new format.

    Ahh, scratch that last comment; I can't seem to connect to the minecraft servers. But my server SEEMS to be working, so you can try.

    Well woopie. My account is working now. I wonder if they got my email and fixed it without send me a email back. Anyway it's time for some noob 101 on minecraft. I just kicked some sheep's ass. Does that mean I'm winning?

    And I died. Why did it spawn me on a stinking island?

    Spawn points are fixed, so you're better off building a little base and a marker tower there so you can find it again.

    Important things to have in the beginning are a crafting bench, pickaxes, torches and a furnace.

    You should try and get wood and coal, and try and Mark your path in case you die again.

    But basically, first step: punch trees.

    And find somewhere safe to cower at night.

    Yeah I'll take the IP. Just need a little practice to make myself useful. Dug a cave the first night and built a small castle with glass windows the second night. I need to research more formulas. How do you swim? I drowned twice.
