I expect Skylake will be an across the board 5-10% increase on Broadwell @ stock speed, that's pretty standard for Intel these says. They have some pretty impressive stock speeds on them, isn't the i7 6600K 4-4.2GHz? Kaby Lake may be a little different, not sure what will happen there with this being the first tock-tock. eBuyer have been around for years, used to use them, dabs and overclockers uk when I was into custom builds. Not used for a while so can't speak for current but a quick Google should give you review results.
Post a max budget you clown! Buy this: http://tinyurl.com/on6jjd9 Ship to UK with this: https://www.shipito.com/
I think max budget would be around £600, after looking at these. Maybe slightly more if justified. Shall I just buy that HP grim posted? Been looking all morning and it's just bloody endless.
It isn't fraud as long as he paid customs and VAT. But laptops are duty-free into all EU nations. Unfortunately, it exceeds £600 by quite a bit and prices you out of a i7-MQ. This is better than the i5 HP and seems the best you can do within that budget... no 1080p http://tinyurl.com/o8z8qr2 Intel Core i7-5500U 2.4 GHz 8 GB RAM 1 TB HDD Windows 8.1 NVIDIA GeForce 820M
Yeah the one Supersonic Posted is worth a punt if you are OK to spend over £500, i looked under as I know how cheap you are.
If you don't want to wait for Skylake then this is probably the best Broadwell option you're going to get for he price. It will do the trick just fine in all honestly and in the future if you want to swap the HDD for a SSD to get it going faster you can. It does come with Windows 8.1 so you will need to do the Windows 10 upgrade yourself but on your super duper 152Mbps service that won't take long* *except that it will because you only get about 2Mbps by my calculations.
Don't take shopping advice from a guy that watches Dukes of Hazzard on a shower curtain. Wait for Skylake.
Cool, it's ordered now. And, as a bonus, if it all goes wrong then I have plausible deniability for the decision. Cheers guys!
@alterego: I would wait normally but I need one soon - been putting this off for ages so I've really run out of time.
What's this about shower curtains??? Looking at the specs, what kind gaming can I do on it? Will it handle recent stuff ok? Been meaning to get back into PC stuff for a while.
^ lol looks like alterego is going be right. This should give you an idea: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=NVIDIA+GeForce+820M+2GB
There's a guy on here that attached two shower curtains to his ceiling and uses them as a screen for his projector.
Like I said a Skylake mobile chip is an unknown but here is one of the graphs I was looking at showing Broadwell as the better gaming CPU. It goes Skylake-Broadwell-Haswell-AMD
Was Iris Pro in all Broadwell chips or just certain ones? Because of the mess Intel made of Broadwell I haven't had much to do with it.
