There's actually more games coming from it too and there's a flagship Pokemon in development as well which is nice.
My Son is the same. He stares at the Wii U handheld screen while ignoring the 50" TV in front of him projecting the same image.
Screen needs to have a yellow tinge and require a magnifier and light accessory to be readable in order for it to have the authentic gameboy feel
My brother managed to find a Switch last weekend. I haven't talked to him to see what he thinks of it yet. It still seems very pricey in terms of power/ $ to me.
Daughter picked up Mario Rabbids game today. She seems to be enjoying the tactical elements. She's building up a nice little collection now, 6 games in 2 months.
Damn! http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/06/26/nintendos-market-value-climbs-past-sony-corp According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nintendo's market capitalization is now at $49.8 billion (5.56 trillion yen), just ahead of Sony Corporation's current market value of $48.6 billion (5.43 trillion yen). Mobile is the future.
PSP didn't fail you mean the Vita. No idea why the Vita failed it was better than the PSP in every way except the games which is why it failed.
Probably. The Game Gear and Vita also had lack luster sales so I think it's more appropriate to say mobile is Nintendo's future. I'm not sure if Sony or Microsoft will every be successful in the mobile market. Microsoft can't even sell their phones.
I have to admit that I picked up a Vita on launch. I was wowed by the technology. It was very impressive in 2011. It has some good games on it, but its library pales in comparison to the 3DS. And it looks like the Switch's library may exceed the 3DS. Hell, it may even exceed the PS4. Just look at these upcoming indies! And these all play on a 720p tablet with Nintendo controllers. I've got to have it.
the question is if nintendo is in a position to cannibalize their own market. apple killed off their ipod market by themselves and it barely affected them.
I tried the Switch at Gamestop last friday. They had several demos running, including Mario Odyssey. It looks and plays like a true successor to Mario 64. The galaxy series was nice, but this is much nicer. You could always tell that Mario Galaxy was running on dated hardware. Mario Odyssey looks like it's running on PS4 hardware. Everything was super sharp and crystal clear. Even Mario Kart 8 looked better on the Switch. My only real issue: The controller is super light with a tiny analog stick & buttons. You can tell that it snapped off of a handheld. So if you're going to play it docked a lot, a pro controller is a must. This thing will kill the 3DS. But this is a better system than the 3DS. So I'm betting that it will only help Nintendo in the long run. The only company that should be worried is Sony. The Switch has the potential to steal away all of their 3rd party software sales. Here's a good example: Lost Sphere. It's coming next year to the PS4, Switch, and PC. Before, the PS4 had to deal with Steam sales, but now it's got to also compete with Nintendo Switch sales. So if someone owns both the PS4 & the Switch, which one do you think will win out? My money is on the hybrid.
Damn old school JRPG I like the look of that, and I would prefer it on the Switch over my PS4 so maybe you are right.
