  1. 7:55 I reckon, just having tea now.

  2. I have not seen grim anywhere. Where is the bastard?

  3. Skype me when u get the chance, just having a cig

  4. But neither you nor grim are online!

  5. Therein lies the challenge :)

  6. Are you joining us this evening?

  7. I have my Slim now. It is generally very quiet, although the disc ejection mechanism seemed louder than I expected. It seems very light after picking up the old 60 GB model. I'm still waiting on my 500 GB hard drive and will need to transfer the data over. Hopefully that goes well, as I think it's necessary to keep my Demon's Souls saves. The Slim's silence was much appreciated during Blu-ray viewing.

  8. The Demon Souls servers are still running? Guess they will keep it that way until the sequel is out...

  9. I'm transferring my data over to my Slim now. Swapping the HDD was a breeze with the Slim. Transferring the data is taking much longer than I expected, an estimated 3.5 hours. I've really enjoyed how much quieter the Slim is. The Fat was reasonably quiet much of the time, but it would start to get noisy if the temperature rose to around 75 degrees F or above, although fortunately for me I tend to prefer to keep the temperature colder than that.

  10. Anybody online this week? I need a break from my GT5 car collecting. Currently 723 unique cars and counting.

  11. I should have an evening free this week; maybe Thursday is best, thinking of it. I have new internets now too; 20MB and a new router that hates my old PS3. The slim seems fine though, so there you go. Was using grim's helpline earlier to sort things.

  12. New internets eh? Sounds good. Grim's helpline? What is this, I don't even...

  13. I can do Thursday.

I think I have my internet plan all lined up for when I move. BT are offering Inifinity from March 31st (which will be when I plan to move anyway) so I will book that up and it should be active by mid April. A test on the line shows I should get 29.9Mbps down and 7.2Mbps up so it seems the only sensible route to take. £38/month for unlimited up to 40Mbps down up to 10Mbps up with unlimited land line calls (inc line rental) isn't too bad I don't think.

Spoke to VM and they still have no idea when Croydon will be getting the upload upgrade and paying the extra for the 50Mbps service while I would still only get 1.5Mpbs up instead of the upgraded 5Mbps seems a waste of money. IF they plan a date before the end of March that isn't the end of the year like some places on the rollout schedule then I may consider using VM but I don't expect it to happen.

Everyone was focusing so hard on Download speeds that Uploads have been overlooked for years. Now people are using Youtube, playing PSN + Live, WoW upload has become more important than ever. What is more annoying is that my friend who lives 10 minutes from me (by car) has already been upgraded and is getting the 10:1 download/upload service

We tested Monsly last night during my tech support session and he has been upgraded to the 10:1 service so on his new 20Mbps down service will have 2Mbps up which should do him fine.

  14. Are you getting Killzone 3, grim?

  15. Probably but not sure it will be this weekend.

So busy with decorating that you may have noticed I haven't been around at all on weekends. This weekend I also have to fit in food shopping, a child's 2nd birthday party, Mrs Grim going to get her hair cut so I need to babysit my child + man night hosted by me Saturday night as well as trying to continue decorating.

Week days are probably going to be best for me during March, I think weekends are going to be completely out of the question. Should start packing soon so hopefully my headset turns up too.

I found 3D dot Game Heroes for £15 today but the queue was soooo long and I didn't have time before I was due back for lunch. Hopefully it will still be there tomorrow...

Just thought of one other PROBLEM! When I move PS3 will be nowhere near router and I know my PS3 is useless when it comes to Wireless from past experience, to be honest I think all the fat ones are look at Monsly's upstairs one for example. Last night we managed to get it to go no faster on a downspeed test than 1.9Mbps, his laptop sat right next to it managed 10.5Mbps! The PS3 fat wireless card is rubbish, I MAY have to buy a slim when I move.

  16. The BC PS3s fetch a decent price last time I checked so it may not be too pricey a switch.

  17. I might keep it, I like being able to play PS2 games and all my saves are on it which I can't transfer it to a PS2 memory card easily. I would need to set up a PS2 anyway so it won't hurt to have 2 PS3's set up.

I could put it up high in my daughters room, that way she could watch Blu Ray disks.

  18. Can't you relocate your router? And blimey, your child has a lot of birthdays. It feels like barely a week has passed since the last one.

  19. Its not her birthday, its her little friend's birthday so we have to go to that. I have to go as Mrs Grim doesn't drive and its about 15-20 minutes away by car.

With ADSL its never a good idea to use a spur for the router, always use the master socket and Infinity is VDSL2 so I assume its similar.
