Im waiting for the free version too. If it's good, I'll buy the full copy, but not until I try it out first.
I got the full version of Driveclub for $50 via PS+. It's not Gran Turismo, but I wasn't expecting that, either. It's more arcade oriented in it's handling. It looks better than I expected due to the superb lighting engine. I would have liked 60 fps, but the 30 fps seems rock solid and still gives a great sense of speed even with the starter cars.
2.0 is available. Straight to YouTube uploads and a YiuTube app are handy. Monsly will find share play helpful as he can't play difficult games anymore so can get a professional like myself to take over when things get too hard. It seems that they now list sizes in . sizes too on storage management rather than the nearest GB. Mine said 280.2GB free for example whereas before it was a flat 280.
Is this update screwy? I've heard bad things. Terrible, even. How does share play work? Can one of you grind destiny for me until it becomes entertaining?
I'm watching wrestling with my nephew so can't tonight. I'll do the update when on next if it's safe. I can't access my PSN messages tonight; either on ps3 or app.
PSN is apparently being hammered by the update which is being blamed on some of the issues. Oddly today was the first time my PS4 downloaded at 3-4MB/sec when getting the console and destiny update so no issues for me it seems. Normally PS4 PSN download is slow, PS3 always downloads faster.
Updated a few minutes ago. Everything seemed OK They've renamed standby mode to rest mode for some reason
We've been testing the Share Play feature with my friends. First, I was the host and one of my buddies played Assassin's Creed. I, as host, was able to see everything he did and he was the only player - I made him the default player. He said he couldn't get into the game because of the lag but nonetheless he played for almost a half of hour. Some time later, with another friend, we played Diablo. This time, he, the host, made me player two so we were playing a coop game. And, to my surprise, there was no lag at all. The only noticeable issue is the graphics quality which varies and sometimes small compression artifacts are visible. It definitely doesn't look 1080/60, its more like 720/30. Apart from that, it was a perfect coop game, just like we were sitting next to each other. The feature has a great potential and it's something that hasn't been seen so far. I'd say it's one of the features of this generation and it's just that not many people have tried it so far. It's like all this onlive/gaikai mumbo-jumbo that doesn't quite work and Share Play works and it's just few click away. I strongly suggest you guys try it on your own.
so could you just buy a game. Turn on share play and go to work, allowing your friend who's off work that day to play the game. How are trophies tracked? Can you earn trophies if you're playing a game on someone else's machine over the internets?
Shareplay sessions are limited to an hour. Trophies will probably be for the host, unless they've invited you as a second player. But don't you need to have started the game on your own console for the trophy listing to appear?
The game IS listed on your console. Although we haven't got any trophy when I played as a guest in coop mode, I bet I would get one too. And yes, it is limited to an hour and the host has to manually reenable the session. I guess they did it just to not to allow people to make money on game sharing that doesn't have any restrictions. Anyway, I am now unexpectedly a believer when it comes to Onlive and other game streaming services. Wow, it IS possible! If I was able to play with a friend 500 km away then I could possibly play a game streamed from a farm somewhere.
No we didn't and Mrs Grim is moaning that you guys made me pay for Minecraft yet we never play it. She thinks it was a complete waste of money.
