I'm not sure they could have kept the level of detail with the scale of R2's 8-player co-op. I have my doubts; R3 really is one of the best looking console shooters I've seen, and it looks really fluid and smooth with the motion blur and locked frame rate. I think they'd struggle to keep that with the co-op from R2. The 8-player co-op mode in R2 was excellent. That's the one part of the game that I really loved.
I said recommended retail price. I haven't paid £49.99 for a game this gen. Hell, even people who are unfortunate enough to use Game/Gamestation will pay less than RRP. Sometimes.
Yeah. The last time I saw a game that was actually selling for £49.99 was Sonic Spinball back in '93.
Really? Was it that much? I remember getting that for Christmas the year it came out, probably helped by the fact that my dad won £1000 on a radio call in 3 weeks before Christmas day.
Yeah, and I'm pretty sure Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo was £55.99 when it was released. You look at the difference between games from the early 90's and games today and the fact that some games back then were more expensive than they are today and no-one can really complain about paying (for example) £44.99 for something like Fallout New Vegas. I think I remember Ocarina of Time being really expensive too.
N64 games were very expensive. I remember paying £60 for Perfect Dark when it was first released. Most Snes games were £50 too.
And these days I'm buying games at a general rate of £10 each, and they're hundreds of times bigger than those games back in day, we've never had it so good.
If you don't know what RRP is then don't moan at me. I qualified my statement by saying a lot of games sell for less than that. Game and Gamestation have stuff on their shelves at higher than £39.99 when I've been in but I'm looking at the new section. It's probably £2 cheaper in their secondhand tat section.
Monsly seeing as you were so upset last night and with the fact that I have nothing else to do at lunchtime I might hit a couple of the little shops round here and see if I can find any rare GC titles on the cheap for you. Sometimes I am too nice.
I'm still annoyed. That Paper Mario should have been mine I tell you. I shall have my revenge I swear.
CEX sell it for £18 but they only have it in Norwich, Basildon and Bradford so I can't help you there. I shall see what I can come up with.
Yes its very rare and goes for £40-£45 on ebay. Monsly is a bit of a 'collector' but I just think he has too much money. Tales of Vesperia seems to have lost some of its value as I can now find buy it now for £45 but there are still some at £70. I haven't played it in a long time and am not sure I ever will but even for £70 I can't bring myself to sell my games at the moment. EDIT: Just found a used copy for £89.99, someone is very being optimistic I feel! EDIT EDIT: I was being a numpty, it still goes for £70+, was looking at a few ongoing auctions, still I won't sell.
I had the 1000 year old doo. I wish I had kept it now. Im off to play some GT5 now its downloaded to my HDD.
Sorry Monsly no luck. The bigger shop I went in didn't have anything good and the little one was too packed for me to get to the 'all games £1' wall. They had about 100 PS2 cases in the section so I reckon he would have had at least one gem in there but the shop is too small for the agro sometimes.
i bought it. But i don't know what character to be. I don't really want to be the guys cos they sound retarded. I like the aborigine lady's voice but don't like the gun expertise cos there aren't any guns early on. That leaves chinese lady with the knife skills but she has a chinese accent... Dunno
White dude with fauxhawk = all around skills (combat skill tree has damage increase skills for both bladed and blunt weapons) and has throwing skills Chinese lady = straight combat badass with bladed weapons (huge damage). not much for survival though. native girl = you pretty much guessed it in your post. she's a badass with fury and a gun though. huge damage she goes fury with a gun. black man = is pretty much the tank and specializes in blunt weapons. can easily knock things down and take the damage. when you level and gain skill points, make sure you put them where you want them. although i havent really looked for it, i havent seen a way to respec.
The thing is, I'm dismissing the guys cos I can't be bothered to listen to smart ass remarks in a gruff American voice. The black lady's voice is nicest but I don't feel like a black lady. Chinese lady looks ok but the accent is a bit "you wanna buy DVD?" I've strews playing with the black lady anyway, guess I'll get used to it.
