having a lot of fun with dead island. Definitely feels very borderjames with the missions. Current weapon of choice is a sickle. Heads come off.
There's a few tips/tricks if you don't already know them: Jump kick gives 100% chance to knockdown a walker/infected. You stamina will take a hit though. (probably doesn't matter much) While you're on a ladder, press the use/action button again to jump off. You can do borderlands style chest/item/money respawn to loot. Once you activate the fast travel parts, you can repeatedly travel back and forth to loot respawning items. Make sure you fast travel back and forth through areas that have a loading screen since that's the only way chests/bags/etc respawn.
Not really. I had a rough time with them that early on too. I usually skip them if i can. Otherwise, I save my molotovs or explosives on them. If you're stuck with straight up combat on them, you'll have to time your swings on them. Aim at its arms first to break them. Then he'll be stuck trying to bite or headbutt you which makes him easier to take out.

Haha, Moresby is pretty horrible. You probably saw the wall set up where there are a bunch of zombies on the other side. There's some quests that require you to go back there. Now THAT is horrible. The infected (runners) respawn constantly back there.
I am definitely having a lot of fun with it, very borderlands/Condemned/Dead Rising esque. Seems like a pretty big game too, I've sunk about 14 hours into it and it looks like I'm just about 40-50% complete. Had a quick look at some guides and I've not quite gotten through half the story quests. Loads of sidequests etc. There is a pretty lethal glitch whereby some co-op mixup will lead to the game not saving progress until you restart the game, had it happen to me and lost about an hour's worth of gameplay but I suppose if an eye is kept on the lookout for the saving indicater, could be easily overcome. I'd imagine they're busy working on a patch as they've delayed DLC until glitches are fixed. I would probably say 7 donkeys out of 10, and if co-op works out, going up to an 8th crab. Overall, yes I would say it is worth it, just that save glitch needs sorting. Haven't had it happen to me again on my singleplayer. Signing out of PSN whilst playing singleplayer stops it happening. I think it's £34.99 on Gamepay.com. @Khaid Had to get into that place for a mission, Bleeming hell, had about 10 infected ambush me.
i was following the dead island devs twitter account. they rolled out the x360 patch a few days ago (i think the 14th) and ps3 and pc patches should be rolling out soon after. they didn't give a date though.
Well the PS3 had a patch to 1.10 and another one which has since been pulled, so a new one should be coming in the next week or so hopefully.
Just as a heads up the is a system update today so those of you with dodgy connections *cough* Monsly *cough* might want to budget some time for it. Only took about 1 minute here so its not too big.
Still installing, takes longer to install than download. Edit: didn't see anything new but it was a .72 so expect its minor.
What? When? Who? I didn't notice a message from you, I was away from my PS3 for about an hour and a half so maybe you sent it then. I'm only one trophy away from getting my first platinum, a year after getting my PS3. Once I find the remaining 7 events in paradise city I will have all the trophies, including the DLC ones. Of course I'll still be looking to finish all the online challenges, that was one of only two things I never managed when I played it on the Xbox a couple of years back.
