  1. *castle crashers

  2. Right that is it from me kids. I wont be playing anything on psn now until this gets fixed or I move. Not even worth trying anymore and to be honest with the amount of times the fix date has already been pushed back I don't expect to be back until things are a bit greener outside the window.

Try and have fun without me.

  3. You really giving in and letting Virgin win? I never had you down as a quitter grim; a loser maybe, but never a quitter. Have you tried a wired ps3 connection to see if that helps?

  4. It is wired, its always been wired.

Fact is all the while I am getting between 10%-30% packet loss there is no way we are going to be able to play any stable games, look what happened in LBP2.

    For now, I'm out..

EDIT: I had a quick look for you Monsly and your neck of the woods is due to get the upload upgrade in March so you will get 1Mbps up rather than 0.5Mbps. Croydon still says 'being planned' but seeing as the whole network around here seems to be fecked no suprise. You seem to be lucky with your timing places like Crawly say Sep-11!

If you want the 100Mbpsdown /10Mbps up service your area goes live in June, again Croydon is 'being planned'.

  5. Have you tried a wireless ps3 connection to see if that helps?

Tell you what we should - try one of the older games we use to play and see what they're like. I don't quite trust LBP2 and Worms.

  6. It took me 20 minutes to download the system update last night and it kept stopping, it sat on 5% for 4 minutes at one point. At peak times my Download is between 1-2Mbps and my upload anything from 0.05-0.1Mbps. The fact is that my connection is just not good enough to play anything. Last night I was getting 30% packet loss.

All we can do is browse the web and even that is slow we can't stream videos online and Mrs Grim even gets lag on Facebook games.

Its a lost cause and I am just going to have to give up for now.

  7. Have you tried turning your modem off and on again? Ghahahaha!

We could always arrange a game at a better time of day. Sunday afternoons maybe?

  8. Weekends are probably going to be quite busy with network traffic anyway but if I notice any kind of hike in my speed I will let you know.

The only other option would be to play between 3am and 5am but you never seem to be able to stay awake past 10pm as it is.

  9. As i never hear anything back from VM when I complain I have tracked down the CEO's email address and sent him an email outlining all of my problems.

    Will see what happens next.

EDIT: Want proof that VM are useless, look at this thread. The fix date has been pushed back from February 12th to April 15th in the space of a week!

  10. Success.... I have a reply.

Will keep you up to date, I might be online yet.

  11. You're an out of control maverick. Getting escalated higher often helps, as my repair adventures with MS and Sony testify. Good luck with your CEO stalking.

  12. I don't think I have any option really if I want to use my internet in the next few months.

I have seen one other success story on the VM forum where someone emailed Neil, they got him moved to another UBR and all has been good.

My problem seems to have come about when they resolved the disconnection issues I was having last year. If you remember every other day my internet would go off. In December it went off and I was told 4 days for a fix, sure enough it came back on but my speeds have been terrible. I assume that whatever it was causing the disconnects finally popped and they couldn't just turn it off and on anymore. I guess I got moved to another circuit and since then Chi hasn't been able to hear me and it never works properly.

EDIT: Had a second email back from someone in the CEO team to get my account details so they can investigate. This is more response than I have had from Virgin Media in the last 4 months!

  13. I hope they can fix you up quickly, like. How do you get moved to a different UBR?

You fool! You have revealed your name on the internets! Monsly's biggest fear about something or other will soon come to fruition

  14. Eh? It's only his first name. We all know our first names, chi. Or should I say DARREN?

  15. People knowing that my first name is the same as around 620,000 other people in the UK doesn't bother me too much to be honest...

  16. Next you'll be posting pictures of yourself in Halloween costumes and it all goes downhill from there...

Well there can't be too many jasons and clauses living in southhampton who've recently taken in a stray cat. I'll be asking some non pet related questions at your local vet's.

  17. Monsly, you'll need to change grim's forum name on the list. What if we get a NEW one_grim_reaper?

  18. What are you doing posting? Quite night down the YMCA bar you work at?

Me a monsly had a couple of lbp games tonight and he could hear me fine. Worked Perth well too until it got nearer 9.

  19. Worked Perth well? Saaaaay whaaaat? Connection wasn't bad until the end.

  20. Perth well? Aren't they flooded?

You and monsly have always been able to hear each other fine. VM obviously have the good ol' cup and string set up between its members.
