  1. Chances are they don't know what's wrong either.

  2. I hope they can restore it within 2 months this time. How ironic, for the first time in months I felt the urge to play Black Ops tonight and the network is down.

  3. Sony are megashit at communicating this stuff. I don't think a rough ETA is too much to ask.

  4. An hour ago:

It's been a while since I said this so I may not get it right first time but here goes...

This never happened to me on Xbox LIVE.

  5. It's back up. Sony said approx 2 hours and it was 2 hours, nice work Sony.

  6. RE4 is £12/£6, not bad but still £2 too much for me.

  7. Driver San Francisco: £57.99. Good job, Ubisoft.

  8. £12 now? Hmm...I think I will buy it later then. I think that will be it for buying games until the end of October over wise I will keep on buying. FFXIII, GT5, Resi4 will do for now.

Still pissed off I spent 20 minutes on that Falci boss in that long tower in Gran Pulse last night and out of no where he one shotted my healer and got a fast kill with Lightning before I could heal after using a Phoenix down on her. Bah!

  9. Just bought Resident Evil 4 HD now and I left my PS3 on to download it. What a beast of a download size. 3333mb. This may take a while lol.

  10. You must have a poor connection like Monsly as in the UK..

    10Mb, 1.2MB/sec, 72MB/min = 46 minutes (Basic Cable)
    20Mb, 2.4MB/sec, 144MB/min = 23 minutes (ADSL)
    30Mb, 3.6MB/sec, 216MB/min = 15 minutes (Midrange Cable)
    40Mb, 4.8MB/sec, 288MB/min = 11 Minutes (BT fibre)
    50Mb, 6MB/sec, 360MB/min = 9 minutes (High end Cable)
    100Mb, 12MB/sec, 720MB/min = 4.5 minutes (Really high end Cable)

VM are trialing 200Mb servies too, its about time you got yourself some new internets.

I am only on the 10Mb service with VM as my area hasn't been upgraded yet for the 10:1 download:upload ratio so I refuse to pay more for less than other people (although I got a letter last night saying upgrades were happening in my area on the 30th) but I always download at least 1MB/sec from PSN. PSN is pretty quick.

  11. 1MB/sec? You have a dream connection lol. Took me 9 minutes to download the 63mb update for black ops last night.

  12. Yeah but we already know you only have one strand of copper holding your phone line together!

Seriously move to fibre, you won't regret it (as long as your area isn't on an oversubscribed UBR, check http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Fibre-optic-broadband-cable/bd-p/Fibre and see if anyone is moaning about your postcode).

  13. There doesn't seem to be much complaining about the Swindon area. As I've said before there's a woman across the road who's on Virgin and she says it's good. I'll have to remind my Mum when I get back from work to hurry up and make the switch.

  14. Just remember you will need to get a package dependant on what kind of usage you want. They use traffic management to make sure people don't pay for the cheapest packages and spend 24hours downloading and slowing down other users.

The basic cheap 10Mbps package has a 1.5GB limit at peak hours and if you break it you will drop down to 2.5Mbps for 5 hours.
The 30Mbps package has a 3.5GB limit at peak hours and if you break it you will drop down to 7.5Mbps for 5 hours
The 50Mbps and 100Mbps packages have no traffic management, you can download whatever you want whenever you want.

At non peak hours the amounts are quick large, 3GB for 10Mbps and 10GB for 30Mbps.

    10Mbps with phone £13.50/month, without £21/month
    30Mbps with phone £18.50/month, without £28.50/month
    50Mbps with phone £25/month, without £35/month
    100Mpbs with phone £35/month, without £45/month

*Phone line rental is about £12/month.

EDIT: Just had a look at the schedule and the 100Mbps package isn't available in Swindon until October.

  15. Yeah I'm pretty sure we're going for the 50Mbps package, or at least the 30Mbps.

  16. If you go for the 30Mbps just make sure you don't download more than 3.5GB in an evening then. If you do it in the day you will be fine.

  17. I left it while i'll slept and around half 8 when I woke up it was on 90%. Just 10% to go then I can play when I turn it back on.

  18. Are you using dial up?

  19. Not for like 10 years ;P I am using Sky BB and my PC is wireless whereas my PS3 is wired. Maybe its something to do with my admin settings or something?
