Blu-Ray isn't really a necessity, and 1600x900 is fine. In a few years when your video card starts getting older you'll probably be happy you went with the lower res screen.

That's a monster PSU. I finally put my PC on a Kilo-Watt power measure system and even under load it barely hit 300W. I suppose that makes my 750W PSU overkill. Incidentally my 24" LCD monitor pulls almost as much power as my whole PC. I wonder if newer monitors do better.
@Bfun not if you get a 120hz one, but perhaps. Do you have an IPS panel or a TN? @AKS your HDs are holding you back SOOOOOO BAAAAD!! lol but I'm sure it's a hell of a lot faster than my Phenom II x3.
I know. I plan to eventually upgrade to SSDs, but I'm waiting while the price goes down and the capacity goes up.
I expected to be a little disappointed with my SSD but so far it's been great. That app that lets me move Steam games around has been a huge help. Before my SSD I used to leave my PC on all day. Now I always turn it off when I'm done using it. I can go from off to PVC home page in 40 seconds. Now my office doesn't get so hot and my AC even runs less.

PVA Just looked it up and power consumption is listed at 88W. I'll test it again but I though I was way over that. Maybe it the settings I use. Well now it's saying 65W. User error perhaps.
My PC has been upgraded to: ASUS P8H61 Intel Socket 1155 motherboard, Intel Core i7 2600 Socket 1155 Sandy Bridge 3.40GHz Quad Core Processor 8GB DDR 1333 mhz Corsair Ram Nvidia GTX 570 I should have researched more on the mobo. I could have done much better. I wonder if it can run battlefield 3 on max?? Probably needs to be overclocked or a better GPU
Nah, still keeping with 1080p. Actually, this will be my last major build.....life moves on. ali_f will be getting hitched next year Can't believe how fast time flies. Still remember my first post at old PVC, it was when I couldn't get Doom 3 working and i was still in school lol.

I built a few PC's when I was like 13 but haven't been into the scene for a long time. Right now I've got a laptop- G102M 512MB card, 4GB RAM and 2 DUO T6500 @ 2.10GHz. I have no idea how good or bad this is at all, but I can look at pr0n and harass forums good enough
This will give you an idea of what to expect out of that card: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-G-102M.16313.0.html It's very similar to a Geforce 8400 or 9400. Games based on well optimized or older engines like Source (HL2, Portal, Left 4 Dead, etc) or UE3 (Mass Effect series) should run okay on medium to low settings. You said Oblivion runs okay, and Skyrim is actually better optimized, so that should be fine too. Just don't expect to play anything high-end on that like Crysis or Metro 2033. It will definitely choke.
My PC is now five years old. Way to go Intel with the Core 2 Duo. I've never gotten this much use out of a CPU.
