The 3DS was kind of a flop and no one is really buying the Wii these days, so I don't know about the Wii-U. I think the Wii/DS fad has ended. People eventually get tired of gimmicks.
True, but now Nintendo actually will be using HD graphics that may sway them. The Wii-U gimmick is better than the Wii's by a long shot though.
probly costs a ton more too, there's been no word on how much it'll cost. I bet it'll be like the PSX (super expensive DVR- PS1 thing... I think)
Ha, doubt it will be that expensive. I'd say somewhere in line with where the PS3/Xbox launched, although it could easily (and hopefully) be lower.
I have decided to go all out against M$ on this one. Its not right that this is my 4th dead console and that I have payed full launch price for 2 of them (Pro and Elite). It is obvious that the console was never fit for sale and I may be forced to use the sale of goods act against them. Going to try to get some email addresses for some heads in the UK. Always helps that I work for a solicitors and having my details in my email signature usually gets the point across.
This is my first email, will see what comes back. In other news my mother has offered to buy me a PS3 slim as a Christmas present, I need to let her know if I decide to take it up.
I think I saw a deal with amazon in which you can get a PS3 for $250 with a $50 gift card. Maybe check around to see what's available over there.
Things are a bit different in the UK, we have all sorts of regulators and laws such as the sale of goods act which means that anything purchased can be expected to work for a reasonable time up to 6 years. The more you pay the longer you can expect it to work and I can easily prove the 360 has an inherent fault so I doubt they would even let it get to small claims court. Seeing as none of my 360's have lasted more than 18 months that is very much an option for me.
Bugger, didn't even spot I had done that after reading through it again before sending it. Must have had too much rage going on to notice my error..
Anyone here know if they only sell the 40nm RSX / 45nm CELL slim models now? I am worried that if I do get a 120GB slim some bastard will flog me the old model with the 65nm RSX he has had out the back for a year? I know you can check the model number (21xxA being the newer models) but if I agree to let my mother get it for Christmas she isn't really going to know to check. Explaining that 20xxA is bad and 21xxA is good to my old mum might be more trouble than its worth, imagine her trying to get the sales person to check? EDIT: ignore that, you can get the 160GB slim for £189 most places and that only comes with the 40nm RSX. Not even sure you an buy the 120GB anymore, you can tell I haven't purchased a console for a while can't you.
I took the 360 off of my TV stand last now, it now looks stupidly empty as its gone from having a cable box, PS3, 360 and a Wii to now just having a dinky little Wii sitting in the middle of the shelf on its own. I put the 3DS charging dock on there just to make up some space. If I get a PS3 back at least that will fill it out a little bit more but its unlikely I will get another 360 and as I am using Sky via the internet now there is no need for a set top box anymore.
I got a reply from Microsoft asking for the serial numbers of the units and the case reference from the last failure that went back to Microsoft. They say once they can locate the details they will look into what can be done. Only took them 3 days, my response. No doubt I will wait another 3 days.
I have had another reply from M$, this time asking for my phone number so that they can call me to discuss the issue. Will see how long it takes them to get in touch.
