240GB Intel 330 SSD - $140 w/ free shipping http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167127 That's huge for an SSD and Intel is the best brand. Early Black Friday deal from what I gather. I just bought one for my desktop. I'll put the 120GB SSD I have now in my laptop. Also, the Steam sale has started, but I don't see anything good yet.
that's the same drive I got a few months ago for the same price too. It's replaced by the 335 series which is a little faster. it's also on sale for $155.
Tiger direct has the 330 as well for $130 after rebate + free shipping. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3702410&SRCCODE=LINKSHARE&cm_mmc_o=-ddCjC1bELltzywCjC-d2CjCdwwp&AffiliateID=lw9MynSeamY-o5w5PfJOdbMGpIjNOVsklg
Plus, there's a very good chance you'll get taxed since tigerdirect/compusa have big box stores in many states. Getting taxed on the original $160 may just bring it back up to ~$140 after MIR.
Tax brings it to $169.59 at checkout. So it's really $139.59 after MIR, and you'll be waiting months for the rebate. Pretty lame. Newegg clearly has the better deal.
The U.S. iTunes store has had a pretty decent Hitchcock film sale going: $9.99 for HD versions of Rear Window, Vertigo, Psycho, The Birds, and others. I picked up the first two in that list. I think this is probably a temporary promotion in line with the new film about Hitchcock that opens Thanksgiving weekend.
Of course it's Black Friday, so there are bound to be a ton of insane deals all over the place, but this one seemed like it might appeal to some PVCers contemplating a video card upgrade. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130817 It's an EVGA GTX 660 Ti FTW 3GB card that includes both Borderlands 2 and Assassin's Creed III (I have both; they are both awesome games) for $299 total with the rebate.
Attention supersonic: Amazon currently has Season 1 and Season 2 of Justified for $9.99 each on DVD and $11.99 on Blu-ray.
With the humble THQ bundle you can pay as little as $1 and get: Darksiders Metro 2033 Red Faction Armageddon Company of Heroes + Expansions Pay $5.71 or more and you also get Saints Row 3 All are redeemable on Steam. The money goes to charity or THQ (they're going bankrupt from what I've read). http://www.humblebundle.com/ Company of Heroes is decent and worth getting for $1. The rest of this is bargain bin trash. I don't think a lame GTA knockoff is worth $6 honestly.
Saints row 3 was surprisingly fun I found - sure, it's a hat knock off and it's juvenile as hell but the game mechanics were solid and it was a lot of fun.
I paid $5.75 and gave it to the Red Cross. I'm pretty sure THQ is beyond saving at this point. From what I read, they sunk all of their money into a Wii accessory called uDraw which tanked badly, and they now have huge numbers of the thing they can't sell. Company of Heroes is good, and I've heard mixed things about Saints Row 3. I know that Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation really likes the Saints Row games. He thinks GTA4 took on too serious of a tone, and that Saints Row is more juvenile and more about causing mayhem like the older GTA games.
I think udraw did well on the wii - pretty sure it was the follow up versions on the 360 and PS3 that really tanked.
I broke down and bought a Samsung 830 256GB for $180. Not as cheap as the Intel 330 but Toms Hardware lists it as a Tier 1 SSD. It should be a good deal faster than my current Intel.
I get a 7.8 WEI with the Intel 330 240GB, and that's on a really old system. For $140, I'm quite happy with it.
