SoftBank in talks with Sprint for acquisition

    Well this was unexpected. Never would have imagined a japanese carrier would be interested in an American carrier.

    Interesting...I don't really know much about SoftBank, but somehow it seems more positive than if another American telco was doing it, largely because of how incredibly dull the competitive landscape is right now for wireless in the U.S.

    CNBC is reporting that the a deal has been settled and it weighs in at $20 billion. SoftBank will get a 70% stake in Sprint.

    Assuming all is true, we'll hear official word tomorrow.
