Songs that remind you of games you used to play...

  1. I'd rather eat my own face than listen to Rob Zombie or Pitchshifter. There, I said it.

  2. That's no skin off your nose, I've known some two faced bastards But you've got more faces than an ethnic god. You've got plenty of faces left.

  3. I'm the most genuine guy in the world, you bastard.

  4. And that's exactly why you don't hear them anymore (same could be said for Placebo too I guess). Not really what people these days are listening too, couldn't see any of them doing a duet with Jessie J.....

Chi, not sure if your quite right on that one, the 90's was good but I think the 80's trumps it for good quality cheese.

  5. by and large the 80's had the best music... and the worst fashion.

  6. I have heard that shoulder pads are making a come back this year....

I think the obvious one that everyone has forgotten t mention is The Offspring - All I Want from Crazy Taxi. I don't think anyone could hear that song now without thinking about that yellow taxi and the stupidly short time limit that means no game usually last any longer than 3 minutes.

  7. Crazy Taxi on PSN missing the original soundtrack is a massive shame.

  8. From what I understand it had a different one on its PC release too..

  9. Did it? I nearly picked it up on the PC a while back. That's 50p saved.

  10. Tch, you're so common, everybody goes for the 80's. You've got to look forward to look back and in doing so I have judged the 90's to be the cheesiest decade.

  11. I refuse to accept your decision to nominate the 90's just because your favourite song is from that decade!

One song doesn't make a decade and you need to start listing to other songs to broaden your horizons.

  12. I listened to Angels & Airwaves through most of my second playthrough of FFXIII and this song seems to remind me of the game the most.

The Moon Atomic - Angels & Airwaves

For all the short-comings of that game I remember it fondly(?)

  13. Are you a Blink 182 fan then? I imagine Angels and Airwaves are quite an obscure band in general and probably have a mostly Blink fanbase?

I am sure I saw an advert for the upcoming Blink 182 tour recently and noticed that most of it has sold out already. Did Travis get badly scarred by the plan crash? Most be quite scary a thing to survive but its nice that it brought them together again. I guess sometimes it takes something major to get old friends to stop arguing.

  14. Yes to everything you just said. Blink were always my favourite band (until Angels) but never got to see them live and regretted that for years, I'm not gonna miss the chance this time. I don't think Travis was badly injured, it was only him and one other person that survived that crash and like you said that would have a serious effect on someone and people around them. Did you see Blink at Reading I think it was last year? Isaw it on tv and Travis was drumming UPSIDE DOWN. Different class.

  15. Anyway, this is what I came to this thread for.

I heard this song on the radio on the way home from work tonight and instantly thought of Fifa 2005. I racked up some serious career hours on that beast. The song in question was:

Take Your Mama Out - Scissor Sisters

  16. I went to a lot of festivals in a period 6-11 years ago but never saw Blink. Probably never too likely at Ozzfest or Download but I went to a few Reading/Leeds and never saw them there either. They could have been on and I been elsewhere.

I used to have a freind who was in to a lot of really heavy metal yet his favourite band ever was Blink 182.

Ozzfest reminds me, Mad Capsule Markets - Pulse - Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3. Fantastic game (shame the series has gone downhill so badly), fantastic band to see live. That was 2002, 9 years ago now, I am starting to feel old....

It was the day after FFX came out, spent all night playing that and then into a minibus we got at 4am to start heading to Castle Donington.

  17. Still Alive Just came on my itunes and I love listening to it. Not only does it remind me of the game it comes from (Mirror's Edge of course) but it also reminds me of the times I had hanging with my mates in the summer of 2009. Good Times.

I miss that game :( Must pick it up for a fiver this weekend.

  18. Firestarter by The Prodigy.

    Wipeout 2097!

  19. Wut? White Zombie and Rob Zombies later solo albums are some of the best Industrial metal out there. Shame on you monsly.
