Steam Holiday Sale 2012

ouch.. didn't realize it wasnt good for the entire order. I guess its only good for one redemption per account too.

 

Picked up Faster Than Light. I heard good things about it.

 

I really enjoyed FTL - be warned that it's bloody tough, even on easy.

 

Bah. I hate tough games. I'm kind of a lazy gamer in that regard. It's the easy way for me.

 

WTH. This game is whacked. I can suddenly be boarded and all my crew killed? No saves? I think I'm done.

 

sounds like you didn't read into the game at all before purchase? that was the whole selling point of the game when it was still in kickstarter phase. the consequences of dying are grave.

No Second Chances! - Permadeath means when you die, there's no coming back. The constant threat of defeat adds importance and tension to every action.

 

Bah.

 

Yeah, it's a rogue like - no saving, lots of randomness. That's what makes it. You can pause anytime which helps. The no save really adds to it - really ramps up the tension.

 

I haven't been able to get LA Noire to run on my PC. They just made it compatible with Win 8 last month with a patch. Steam should have applied the patch but maybe not. I'm going to try and add it manually.

 

If you had it on console you'd be playing it by now...

 

Amazon beat out Steam on Far Cry 3 discount. It's currenty $49.99 on steam sale. Amazon's holiday sale has it down to $37.49
