Tablets are a Fad

  1. It'll still remember it. The only thing I assume that it won't show is tabs you open in incognito mode.

    Here's how it looks

  2. I currently have 3 tabs open and I'm doing NOTHING!! I typically just leave tabs open cuz I'm too lazy to close em. ie there is no close feature in Win8... OMG WHAT are you to do!! lol

Other times (when reading boring anandtech articles mainly... not that their ALL boring, just I try to get to all of em... at least the first and last page...) I open a tab cuz I remember something to satiate my ADD in the midst of something really boring. I also play YT in one tab and switch to what I'm doin if I don't care to watch it ie a music video.

As for convo #3 (where someone browses with their tablet than replies with their phone/ laptop) I just don't get that... why not just use one device? if not a laptop don't they make keyboards for tablets ie Asus Transfomer? I know Apple makes a slick cloth type kb for macs, do they make that for the ipad??

  3. Ah, I see HOW you do it Khaid... the power of the allmighty assimila... uh cloud. You will become one of us. Anyway that's cool... just seems like adding a variable to your equation not simplifying it :/

  4. [quote author=Pdraggy]when reading boring anandtech articles

Had to re-read that part. Thought it said antanddec for a second lol.

  5. I always had problems with that name as a noob... mostly cuz a porn site was made in much the same name. Unlike most, I was actually trying to avoid said porn site.

I wasn't used to the name Anand either... funny name :)

  6. IIRC, he's of Indian and Iranian heritage. He may or may have not been born in the US but his english is flawless. I watch his in depth video reviews from time to time. He probably lives a few miles from me. I know he resides in Raleigh somewhere.

  7. Work colleague has just had his Galaxy Tab 10.1 delivered and it is pretty nice. He got it for £50 when you minus the rebate and all of the free vouchers he had for John Lewis but said he probably would have been a little disappointed if he had paid £318 for it.

I noticed it was pretty heavy and it is apparently lighter than the iPad, would probably get tired arms after a while. M$ have done the clever thing by including a kick stand with surface.

I would probably like to get one for home but I would only use it as a web browser and YouTube viewer which is what I currently do with my phone, it would just be nice to have a bigger screen. For the moment I will continue to save the money and stick to my phone.

  8. I was thinking of getting a 7” Galaxy just to surf the Internet in bed. Seems like kind of a waste though. I’ve tried my wife’s iPad and it’s too heavy to hold for very long.

  9. The 7"er's are smalller and lighter than the ipad though right?

  10. I would assume but I haven't actually checked.

  11. No, they use the same case and internals to save costs but just put a smaller screen in and a bigger bezel on.

  12. Re: Re: The Tablet Thread

    That makes sense

  13. It certainly does.

  14. Ooops, noticed I put galaxy tab 10.1, he got the Galaxy Note 10.1

I was only holding it for 5 minutes and my arm started to ache, needs a stand.

  15. I was starting to wonder why you were impressed by the ancient galaxy tab 10.1

The Galaxy Note 10.1 got pretty horrible reviews. The only redeeming factor is that it uses samsung's new touchwiz and has the multiwindow multitasking that's also in the galaxy note II.

If I were to recommend an android tablet to anyone right now, it'd be the Nexus 10 or the asus transformer prime tf300 or tf700 depending on their budget.

  16. I'd get the Nexus 7 if it didn't weigh more than the Nexus 10.

  17. Does it?

  18. of coarse it does! didn't we go over this before?

  19. I refuse to believe it. You go and find out how much they weigh in Rudolf noses, then we'll talk

  20. A comparison of the weights of all of the major tablets.

Looks like the iPad is the real beast of the tablets, according to the chap on the video guaranteed to give you an arm ache after only a few minutes.
