The Amazing Spider-Man

  1. Except they're an integral part of what made the comic fucking amazing since day one. They serve more than a purpose in swinging him around; they're in to show you that Peter Parker is a clever guy and to be honest I was always unimpressed with Raimi's idea of having them be part of his arms...surely if they were natural webs they'd come out of his arse, no?

Except Curt Connors isn't actually a bad guy; not a willing one at least. He turns into The Lizard by accident and if they do the comic right he'll never be aware he's the Lizard or at least hate himself for it...

  2. I never really read the comics, that wasn't my scene. I guess I dislike the idea of webshooters because they make it seem like Spiderman has less powers, which I guess is true. As Chi said where will he keep his refills? I've always know Spiderman to actually produce his own web as I'm used to the cartoons and films. Leave the gadgets to Batman, he needs them as he has no powers lol.

  3. I like the fact that they seem to be getting closer to the comic in terms of Spiderman's fighting style, with all of the freakish acrobatics and quickness. The scenes where he's just sitting there in costume actually remind me of the old Electric Company version, which admittedly is both kind of cool and sort of weird at the same time.

  4. That's the whole point; some of the best scenarios with him in the comics were at points where he ran out of the web fluid he used. He also kept his refills under his top or later wrapped around his wrists like an ammo belt.

Unless I've missed one of the cartoon versions Raimi's Spider-Man was the only one to have organic webshooters. Not sure about Ultimate Spider-Man comics tho. And Batman does have powers..awesome Ninja power and he's (in the comic at least) the worlds smartest man (which is something that i think is kinda missing from Nolans films)

That's what I was thinking too. It also reminded me of this:

Spider-Man needs a pimping porno soundtrack

  5. [quote author=Ichiban] Maybe a full reboot is what this franchise needed after Spider-Man 3 pretty much killed off Raimi's movies...

It seems like superhero franchises always turn retarded by the third movie. It happened with the 80s/90s Batmans and Sam Raimi's Spiderman movies. I actually don't hold out much hope for the next Batman. The trailer I saw looked ridiculous.

  6. Those clips are hilarious. I like how the show's producers decided to add a bunch of Six Million Dollar Man style slo-mo jumps into Spiderman's repertoire to make it easier on themselves in terms of special effects. "No wall crawling or web swinging...just have him jump over the house like Steve Austin! The kids will love it!"

  7. I just watched this friday night and I thoroughly enjoyed it.. even more than the first tobey one. i have to say the lizardman design was quite horrible, although it didn't ruin the otherwise solid movie. it was like he was fighting a goomba on steroids.

  8. You mean a koopa! Goombas are the mushrooms

A goomba from the Super Mario Bros. movie.

    That's so wrong

  11. That whole film was just so wrong. It was terrible from top to bottom.

    Here's the trailer

If that wasn't bad enough here's the link to the full film on youtube, all 104 minutes of it.
