The Great US vs UK Food Debate

  1. Didn't bfun once say that he'd had fried Twinkies? I don't know if it was the on-a-stick variety though.

  2. It's all about a battered mars bar.

  3. I've had a fried snickers bar and fried ice cream but not on a stick. Best thing I've ever had on a stick was frozen cheesecake dipped in chocolate.

  4. Tried the McDonald’s Shakin’ Flavor fries a while back. Thought they were disgusting.

  5. The barbecue ones are fairly decent

  6. I'm sure they did these in the UK in the 90s; called Hollywood fries maybe? Can't find fuck all evidence online though. Maybe it was all a wonderful dream.

  7. I had the ranch and garlic Parmesan. It tasted exactly like the stuff on potato chips and pretty much removed any french fry taste. So it was like hot greasy potato chip sticks. What started as curiosity ended as regret. I also could have tried the McTeri Burger but I think my self-defense mechanism kicked in and prevented me from buying it.

    Burger King did it.

  8. No wonder McDonalds is struggling these days. Their execs are plagiarizing Burger King's ideas from 20 years ago.

  9. Managed to hit a Shake Shack today. Ordered their standard burger, fries, and a black and white shake. I thought the burger was disgusting. It had an odd taste at the first bite and was all together too mushy. The meat was also slightly pink on the inside which had me worried. I think it was the first hamburger I've ever ordered and not eaten. The shake was really good but I'd never go back. In fact I was so upset that I lost 1000 calories out of my 5000 calorie lunch that I had to go cap it off with a Bojangle's deep fired chicken sandwich. It was delicious.

  10. I went to Shake Shack once... several stupid idiots from work hyped them up. I ordered a burger but they gave me a kids meal while charging me for steak. I ate their slider and went for chinese food.

  11. Yeah the portion to price ratio was rather bad. Five guys, Smashburger, Lark Burger and even In and Out are all bigger.

Oh I forgot about this monster I had a few weeks ago at a place called 7 Brothers. I don't even know what it is. I think it was mayo and BBQ sauce, Bacon, and onion rings on a burger. Pretty sure the goal of the restaurant was to make the most obscene burgers possible then let the pictures flood through social media.

  12. I normally get my burgers medium rare but I agree. getting a pink burger from a fast food place is pretty scary. I only order them like that at restaurants.

  13. Why didn't you go up and ask for a proper cooked burger?

  14. That's the reason you think Shake Shack tastes weird. You're so accustomed to eating burgers with crazy amounts of sauce and extra toppings and buns made out of Cool Ranch Doritos that you have no idea what ground beef actually tastes like.

  15. Had a whole jerk chicken today. Was a bit much. Very tasty though and the spicy calimari starter was really good too. So full, so sick. At least this experience has given me a glimpse into an average superSONIC day

  16. Consumer reports just released their testing results of 300 batches of ground beef purchased from all over the place. 100% of it contained fecal matter that can cause blood and urinary track infections, 20% had bacteria that would give you food poisoning, and 10% had some kind of bacteria toxin that would make sick no matter how much it's cooked. I'm thinking about giving up on ground beef.

Well I didn't like the burger anyway so no need to get another.

I'm pretty sure it was the "Shake Sauce" that gave it the odd taste and the mushiness was approaching level White Castle.

Anyway here is some beef chow foon I had for dinner.

  17. It was probably the methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus.

  19. Aint gona lie. The Bacon McGriddle is the bomb. Of course these days I'm all about the Egg White Delight McMuffin which isn't really a delight at all.

  20. Pumpkin spice fried chicken doughnut burger…
