Agreed. That's something I would've done in college and enjoyed without repercussions. But mixing so much stuff together nowadays... my stomach can't take it.
I threw a corned beef in the slow cooker this morning. Should be great tonight Cue the confused questions from British people for whom Corned Beef is a canned spam-like product rather than the cured slow cooked beef brisket we eat in the US.
Well I swear every year on St Patricks Day we have some Brit come in and explain that the Irish actually eat bacon and cabbage (not corned beef and cabbage), and that British/Irish corned beef is some canned spam-like thing that you probably wouldn't even touch if you were trapped in a fallout shelter.
It was so good and we were so hungry we devoured almost the whole thing. No time for pics, almost no leftovers.
I never did get an InstaPot... but I bought an AirFryer. Been eating air fried chicken for like 2 weeks now. My cook times have improved considerably, but I'm still working on making it look oil fried. I'm 80% of the way there with thighs but my preferred drumsticks look sad. Tastes great without the grease though!
Don't you simply get full while it cooks? Might get 2-3 plates tops before the long breaks do you in. More "all you can order". Like when IHOP taking 20 minutes to get another plate of unlimited pancakes, ensuring you've gotten full. The only real "all you can eat" is steam bucket buffets. Those are for champions.
Yeah, the all you can eat pancakes thing is weak. This BBQ stuff isn't too bad as long as you pace yourself. If you look at the sides they are tiny and half of them are pickled or fermented. Even though it's all you can eat a little goes a long way. That soju drink was awesome though. I think it's like the Mad Dog 20/20 of Korea.
In my on goings of watching people eat food on YouTube... some confirmed why they eat in cars. Any music at the restaurant will be a DMCA violation and demonetize their video/channel. I suppose they just don't want to drive home before eating.
2017 is going to be the summer of BBQ. Started with NYC #1 rated joint and it was a bust. A small 2 table shop in NJ was much better.
Texas and Tennessee BBQ is on the to-do list. NYC is such a overhyped bubble because most people have never ventured outside of it. Their "best" BBQ was worse than Dickies BBQ chain. I did have Korean BBQ from a street stall. That was the best one so far.
@bfun Primeday has InstaPot for $89 the cheapest I've ever seen it. What's your honest opinion after 6 month? Collecting dust or daily use? Also, thinking about a Vous Seude thingamajig.
Its collecting dust but that's mostly because I'm eating a lot less meat these days. I still like it better than a crock pot. I mostly use it now to cook sweet potatoes.
I passed on the Instapot but got the vous side machine. I've been interested since I saw a YouTube video a few years ago, but it was prohibitively expensive at the time.
I almost got something like that. Same idea but it was just a heating element that attached to a bucket. The fact that steak was the only food it cooked made me think it wasn't worth it.
Goddamnit. I bought the finest meats and cheeses in all the land, only to find my vous swede machine DOA. I'm not sure I can trust this brand. Might have to get a refund instead of replacement. Dead out of the box is pretty bad. https://tinyurl.com/yaxhu4t5
I got one of those egg taco things from Taco Bell. I thought it would be a flour tortilla with an egg on it but it's a fried egg used as a taco shell. Actually, I'm not entirely convinced it was really egg. I kind of regret eating it.
