Overcharging assholes pay an asshole tax to some even bigger overcharging assholes. I feel so sorry for them.
LOL…one minute you guys are complaining about the price difference between the occasional cab ride vs. Uber, then the next minute you think being charged 5-6% for every credit card fare year round is no big deal.
So whats the deal with Taxi cab companies having all their employees with the same nationality? For instance in one city it will seem like every driver in a company is from Africa. The I'll hit another company and every driver is from India. There is no diversity and that's always seemed kind of sketchy to me.
How often do you actually use cabs or Uber? I'm guessing it's not that often judging by the comments.
Law for changed in the UK yesterday, credit card companies can't charge more than 0.3% for transactions now. America needs to follow suit.
That's impressive. I wonder if the savings will get passed on to the consumers of if the retailers will pocket it.
In the U.S., people think 2.75% is a great deal. Unfortunately, the entire country is suffering from Stockholm Syndrome when it comes to banks and corporations.
IF they are paying 5-6%, extra middle men are involved. Maybe the cab company itself posing added fees on the driver. AMEX or Diners Club may approach 5% in select posh markets. There is absolutely no way MC/Visa/Discover are extracting those kinds of fees. Those rates are gonna be around 1-3% depending on volume, negotiations, and processor. LOL the government won't be besting corporations in America anytime soon. The actual transaction fee is closer to 0.5%, it's the added branding, issuers, 'made up word' fees that get it up to around 3%.
In reality, 2-3% over the course of year is still significant in the business world. Try and find a bank that pays 2-3% on savings accounts or CDs. If you're an employee and you get a cost of living raise, it's rarely more than 2%.
