What Games Are You Playing?

  1. I tried all 5 buttons the other day and although I finished the song I tried it with, I still had big problems moving from the both end ones. I guess with practice I could hopefully master it. Any tips?

  2. Lol. I started on 4 buttons and thought I'd never be able to play with 5 as it really did feel alien when I tried. But after a while of playing on normal I upgraded to hard and that's the perfect difficulty for me. I got used to it and wouldn't go back. I can play and finish songs on expert but I get no decent combos so it's not fun. I can 100% most songs on hard so that's perfect for me. I hate playing normal now because just using 4 buttons is really boring now. Just give it time and patience and you too will graduate to hard and wonder how you ever got on with only 4 buttons lol. Or you'll fail because you have poor rhythm and digital dexterity.

  3. Practice on hard... a lot. Obviously knowing the songs is most of the challenge. You effectively have to unlearn them from normal and relearn them on hard. I usually keep my index finger on the red button with the rest of my fingers on yellow, blue and orange respectively, this way you can quickly flick your index finger down to green as required. I also used to play sat down but these days I always play stood up without the strap. It's all about finding a comfortable playing position where you can easily more your arms. When faced with a huge wall of gems coming your way consider strumming up and down rather than just down. Finding out when it's easiest to strum up and down instead of just down is key. Practice makes better.

  4. Me and two mates bought Tiger Woods 12 collector's edition yesterday. I think the advertising on the package is misleading. There's two versions of the game, there's the standard version:

    and there's the collector's version:

I saw the collector's edition and thought there was an additional 19 courses compared to the original version since it says "Includes The Masters & 19 additional courses". I thought the masters referred the original version of the game since it has MASTERS plastered in huge letters on the box. But it's really only 5 more courses than the standard version. Basically there's two dlc packs and the collectors edition includes one of those dlc packs, just so you know.

It feels really different at first because the perfect controls have been changed (well it has been the same for over 6 years lol). But we reckon once we get the hang of it and start playing well it could be better than '09.

  5. Been trophy farming Infamous in anticipation of Friday's sequel release. Loved this game the first time and enjoying it enough playing again. Of course I am going the other route (in my case good)

Only problem I have is I never got the bio leech trophy on my bad run and as I have cleared all of the areas doing it post game will be hard just finding 100 of the guys. If I really want the platinum I guess I will have to start again.. Don't really want to risk trying to get it on my good run and ruin my positive karma for the good ending trophy.

At the moment I am just hoping I am on course for the 100 high fall take downs. I would recommend to anyone farming on this to start throwing people off of buildings from the word go. Once you kill random enemies on roofs they very rarely come back and so often they hit something on the way down and it doesn't count as a high fall. I still have the last area to open up and I have been using my blast to send loads of people to their deaths so I hope there are enough left for me to get this one otherwise I will not be happy.

Only have a few left to get, hope I get enough time to play before Friday.

  6. I'm playing infamous as well, pretty good and I'm farming trophies as I go along, 334/350 shards.

I've started on a good playthrough so that I can go mental for the second, mwahahaha

  7. I never finished inFamous, but I remember what I played being a lot more fun if you went the evil route, and the game seems to be designed with the assumption that you'll be an evil dick.

  8. On my first play through back last year I think I got to about 346 before I gave up as I couldn't find the last 4.

On this playthrough I am clicking L3 all the time to make sure I don't miss any.. I hope.

  9. Started Tales of Vesperia for the second time. What a great RPG. My mate brought his brothers Left 4 dead 2 around last night and I tried that for a bit. Quite a fun game but the hordes after hordes of those creatures tends to get annoying some times.

  10. L4D2 was decent but nothing memorable. I didn't think the new weapons or maps really added anything to the experience. It was more like an expansion pack, but Valve charged full price for it.

  11. Managed to find all the shards last night. I'd done a complete sweep of island 1 and 3 as I knew I'd missed some on the first and hadn't fully explored the last. I visit the middle island and stumble upon the last shard by accident. I see it glowing before I've scanned the area. Result!

  12. I only got to try out that bridge level, but two of the other players were always running on ahead trying to run and gun everything. I was pro on my first time. Was last man standing and got swamped with only my pistol and the end just around the corner.

  13. Yeah that map can be annoying if you play with dicks who leave you behind, but that's a problem with L4D in general.

The first game was much better. Even with the new weapons I still played through most of it with the M-16. The new weapons just seemed redundant, or were actually worse than the guns from the first game. I liked the simple weapons setup of the first game. The guns didn't all feel like clones of each other. And other than that bridge crossing and the finale at a rock concert, I literally can't remember any of the maps from that game. It was that forgettable. Luckily I waited until it was like $10 on Steam.

I'm not sure what's up with Valve lately. Between L4D2 and Portal 2, they just seem to be making cash grab sequels. They'd better be working on Half-Life 3.

  14. stll looking for l4d's single player mode... I suck at multiplayer and don't want to bring my team down... especially when I don't even know the damn game!! WTF seriously.

  15. Is the single player as annoying as multiplayer? if not I may give it a crack. I love using the shotgun as its easier to hit the hordes and kills them faster. The biggest problem I face is shooting the other humans as they get in my way most of the time. ;)

  16. The single player is identical to the multiplayer, only you play with bots. It's completely pointless. L4D is meant to be a multiplayer team based game. Playing alone is missing the whole point of the game.

  17. I accidentally saved over my damned end game Infamous 'Infamous' save last night.. I just hope there isn't any past save integration into the new game.....

Nearly finished my good playthrough now but it means I will have to get all of the blast shards in this playthrough.

Not many trophies left to get and these include the good ending, all good powers purchased (need the last megaton hammer one which I need 1000XP for) and the good sphere trophy so there is 3 of them.

  18. I'm struggling with the high fall stunt where you need to knock three enemies off a roof. Also the air sticky

  19. I am assuming you have started again now, if your at end game with all side missions done your going to find it hard just to find enemies let alone 3 of them up high. Power up your force push move (R1 X) as much as possible and then do a few quests until you find one with some enemies up high. I don't think you would be able to do this one while free roaming as it is hard enough to find any high up enemies.

I finally got the high fall trophy last night, I was getting worried it was never going to come. Got annoyed with some enemies falling but not registering a high fall and others hitting things on the way down or landing on another roof.

Air sticky try the same, send one off with a powered up push and then lob loads of grenades. They take a long time to fall when you power that up to full so you should have time to hit one.

  20. Yeah I've started on evil but the shockwave doesn't hold them in the air as long as on good. I've left all te territories unclaimed so I'll probably roam around the first island for a bit.
