yes, this above is advice for you. you can literally add anything into steam library manually. even notepad. and then launch notepad from steam and it'll show your status as playing notepad.
I've just been promoted to homicide and I'm calling it a night. I like this game. The facial animations really are head and shoulders above any other game I've seen, it's a joy to watch people converse. The game seems to be pretty repetitive though. It seems like its 25% questioning, 25% driving, 25% foot chases that always end up on a rooftop and 25% solving cases by killing everyone. Seriously Cole just has to pick up the radio and hq are already sending a coroner lol.
I've been playing GTA IV on PC quite a bit frequently. I still haven't figured out the stuttering issue, but it looks very impressive when it is operating properly. I have more power than most games even use right now, so I've found a way to take advantage of that and run this poorly optimized resource hog.
GTA 4 is probably the most poorly optimized PC game I can think of. It doesn't even look that good, that's the worst part.
Actually homicide was pretty repetitive. Same damn MO one after the other *SPOILER* and in the end you get fuck all recognition for it. I started vice and so far pretty much all of my partners have been total dicks. Someone mentioned earlier that the driving is kind of redundant and I agree. It seems like the driving is just tacked on to pad the game out, not to mention the film reels and landmarks.
Personally, I found homicide to be the best segment in the game. I don't remember getting very many 5 star case ratings in homicide, and the partner you have is the best in the game IMO in terms of conversation and storyline. And the lack of recognition you talk about...you'll find that's part of Rockstar's choices for how to bring some elements of realism to the criminal justice system in this game.
I seem to have a lot of games on the go at the moment. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim With this game being so huge I expect to be finished with this by 2014 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D The smooth frame rates and updated graphics make this much more of a joy to play than the N64 version which feels very clunky now. Professor Leyton and the Curious Village Some nice puzzles and my first game in the series, will be continuing on after this one. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Only just finished the intro in Skyloft and now in theory have access to the Faron Woods. Too early to say too much really. Super Mario Land 3D Some good handheld platforming. Finished World 1, the levels did feel a little short but I am hoping that is just an early level thing.
Similar set from me. I am 50+ hours into Skyrim. Did the Mages Guild quest and now switch between Companions and Thieves Guild quests. Decided to postpone civil war and the main quest as quite a lot of people find them buggy on Ps3. I am at the boss in Fire Temple in Skyward Sword. It's one of worst Zeldas ever. Boring, repetitive and simple. The only great dungeon was the Ancient Cistern and as I just started to believe, I got into the Sandship and then the Fire Temple and what I only wish is to finish this and forget. I got 240 coins in SML3D, cleared all standard worlds and occasionally play to get one or two coins in special levels. Definitely one of the best Marios ever, fun and balanced. However, I also play Zen Pinball for 3DS, it's a great game and the 3D adds much to the game play. Plus, it's relatively cheap.
Started playing at 5760x1200. It takes some getting used to and then there are HUD issues that need to be fixed but I'll get it all figured out.
