What Games Are You Playing?

  1. I picked up Pokemon White just last week.I know I'm a little late to the party on Pokemon White/Black, but boy-oh-boy am I having a blast!

It's great to experience all new Pokemon and not have to see a single Metapod or Zubat! The animations are simple but it is good to see them moving about rather than simply standing there motionless battle after battle.

I actually found my old friend who originally played Red/Blue with me in the 90's and am working on convincing him to pick up Black so that we could trade. His wife thought the conversation was adorable, he however knew this was some serious sh*t.

Anyone else on hear still like the ol' Pokemons?

  2. I still need to play White. I got quite far last year but lost my save file. I should really finish the game before Pokemon Black and white 2 comes out.

  3. She bought a 360 a few years back but only started playing it on the regular about 2 years ago. She's played a lot of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Morrowind, Oblivion, dabbled with Dragon Age and she's been playing Skyrim since launch. I actually bout two copies from amazon, one for me and one for her. She also games quite a bit on her iPad but let's face it, Those don't count as real games.

I've officially given up with The Witcher 2. I've simply had enough of the mediocrity. Ive tried to give this game a fair go but it's just so boring it pains me to actually play it and it feels like a chore. People who gave this game 9/10 need their heads looking at. Don't buy it, it's a bad game full of boring combat, boring towns, boring quests and boring mechanics.

  4. Any game that requires you to read a damn novel just to understand what's going on has failed as a game in my opinion, especially when they don't tell you beforehand. I didn't even know there were Witcher books. There's Halo and Gears books but I've never read them and have been able to greatly enjoy the games. The Witcher 2 is just a bad game on all fronts.

  5. Sounds fair. I haven't played it and thus I don't have anything for nor against the game. I remember glowing reviews but reviewers could have been biased as the game has been developed here in Poland.

Anyway, forget the game if it doesn't fit you but at least read the novel. It's a solid fantasy and most readers are satisfied with it.

Regards to your mama for such strong inclination for great rpg games :)

  6. It's terrible. I also don't understand all of the praise. I feel like I gave it a fair chance to get better, and it never did.

Did you ever get System Shock 2 working? That's an awesome game that won't let you down.

  7. How long is it going to take for Rockstar to get rid of the cheating bastards rigging the leaderboards in Max Payne 3?

One cheating jackass LEMOH_RUS has had the #1 spot on every board since this game has been out with impossibly high scores.

I see this jerkoff's monicker every single time I play the arcade mode; it's always up in-game.

  8. instruction manuals are overrated

  9. any body played that I Am Alive game yet? I think it came out earlier this year on PSN and XBLA. looks like ubi is porting it to PC. It looked fairly interesting and if they price it like $10 I'll buy it.

  10. Yes, I've played through the PS3 demo and enjoyed it. I was hoping for a PC version. I'll probably buy it.

  11. Good to hear. Hopefully ubi handles this pc port fairly well as their ghost recon future soldier release had a few issues. and hopefully the controls aren't wonky since there seems to be quite a bit of parkour-like activities.

  12. Has anyone tried Dishonored yet? It's been getting great reviews, lots of 9s and 10s, and the steampunk setting looks pretty unique. People are saying the gameplay is a bit like the Thief series.

  13. I've just heard from everyone that it's amazing. I'm pretty much just going to buy it based on the responses I've heard from people who've played it.

  14. I've watched a number of gameplay videos for Dishonored and it doesn't seem THAT unique. It's basically a stealth game that allows you to choose how the game plays based on your own preference (violent, non-violent, mixture of both), which is supposed to add to replay value. I didn't see anything that looked too different about the way the stealth aspect played though..sneak up from behind, drop down from above, etc. Something I'm missing?

  15. I can't really say without playing it, but it may just be that everything is implemented well. There are plenty of stealth games, but few really good ones. They often have dumb AI, or terrible sneaking mechanics, or some other issue.

  16. Yep, it's most likely just implemented very well. For example, look at skyrim. Morrowind was great, Oblivion was great, then all of the sudden Skyrim was awesome, although if you just look at reviews and gameplay, it doesn't look like it plays much different than the others. That's very far from the truth as Skyrim even sucked in players that didn't like the other two.

Gonna have to try this title to see if it's for me.

  17. Lots of the kids at school are talking about dishonored - they seem to love it. After reading a bit I decided to give it a try meself. The fact it's meant to be short really appeals to me - I've really grown tired of long games over the last couple of years. Total turnaround.

  18. I was going to pick it up but if it is short will wait for it to be cheap. Not paying full price for a short game.

  19. Worms Revolution.

Team 17 should not be allowed to make games any more. The PS3 version has frame drops, input lag and unresponsive everything. It looks like it drops as low as 10fps at times.

Either they are all actually a bunch of armless, slimy, fat headed derps or they just don't care.

Jet packs and ninja rope are effed up

  20. Just bought Sonic Adventure 2 off PSN. Will be playing it once the 3134mb download finishes. :( I also bought Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 today so playing that along with MW3 and FFXIII-2 still.

    Edit:

Add Mario Kart 7 to that list too as my missus bought me it last night and surprised me with it. So many games to play now, I feel like Monsly.
