It got a very rough start for a number of reasons, including no DX11 or high end settings at launch, delays, multiplatform release, and the abandonment of the open world structure of the previous Crysis games. It's not a bad game, really. The deferred lighting and various effects really look spectacular at times. I'm hoping Crysis 3 gets off to a much better start than Crysis 2 did. Plus it has a secret weapon that totally outclasses Crysis 2, Toad Tech.
Super Mario Wii U. Since I traded in my PS3 to play this, I guess I'm officially a Nintendo fanboy again. Woo hoo!!!
I've just got Halo 4, and I must say it's significantly better than I'd expected (given it's a new developer and all), fantastic title and also extremely pretty.
Mario is like a true successor to Super Mario World and it works fantastically. The Wii U does not disappoint.
I'm in 2 minds about getting a wii U. Feel a bit burned by my 3DS and Vita purchases so going in early again, when there's not a lot to justify it, puts me off. Might wait to try one in store - if mario is like SMW then I'm going to be sorely tempted. Looks a bit too similar to the previous new Marios to me though and they didn't do much for me.
Yeah, Phisix. That's exactly how it works. And I got burned by the Vita too. The 3DS & Vita just can't compete against the iOS & Android market place. It's sad but true. But the Wii U can compete. The iPad can't run Black Ops 2, but the Wii U can. And being able to play it on the toilet is awesome. I haven't done that, but I could.
The Wii-u will be getting some AAA titles including Monster Hunter and most probably GtaV so it will do well I believe.
I've been playing Borderlands 2 and got the iCEnhancer mod for GTA IV working. Looks pretty damn nice. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=109113377&insideModal=1
XCOM Enemy Unknown I've been playing this for about 14 hours strait. That could be a new record for me but I'm not sure. It's not even an "Amazing" game. It's just a good game that's hard to put down. It's difficult to compare it to any other game really. Perhaps Fallout 2 mixed with Sim Tower and Mass Effect. I never played UFO Enemy Unknown but I can guess why it's regarded as one of the top 10 PC games of all time.
Still going through my old RPG's not played yet phase and so I am playing Suikoden at the moment. I did play it back in the day but never finished it. Enjoying it so far but it feels and looks like a SNES game.
I'm playing Xenoblade Chronicles via the Wii emulator on my Wii U. All I got to say is... "What the **** is this doing on the Wii???" ???
Saints Row 3 It's actually really fun. It reminds me a lot of the older GTA games like San Andreas and Vice City where it's mostly about causing as much mayhem as you can in the most dickish, over the top way possible. And the shooting and driving mechanics are better than the GTA games. I never had much fun with GTA4 to be honest. That game took itself way too seriously. Rockstar got delusions of grandeur and thought they were making the Godfather or something. I also don't want to feel bad about murdering pedestrians. In fact, murdering pedestrians is the whole point. It's kind of sad when a company making a knockoff has a better understanding of what made the old GTA games fun than Rockstar themselves.
