My mums bought that at the weekend. She thinks its ok. She was getting capped when I saw her earlier.
From what I've seen in gameplay videos, the enemy AI in Bioshock Infinite seems to amount to "stand in one place" or "run straight at you".
Infinite does get a lot better, but it is in no way flawless. The AI isn't great, and early on they are quite easy to take down. Later on, there are a lot of them and many with a lot of HP and fire power, so you have to play the game in a certain way to effectively take them down. It's worth sticking with IMO. Personally, I loved it from start to finish, so not liking the start you may end up not liking it as much as some. The setting and the feeling of complete surrealism delivered in a convincing way is what I love. It then delivers a pretty good story and a classic FPS experience within that amazingly surreal world. I often found myself looking at the weirdly animated NPC's and thinking of Fallout 3 and remembering how that was bad enough in 2008... these days we SHOULD be beyond this! But for the setting, and the same holds true for me with Fallout 3 also, the quirkiness of the game actually builds upon the surrealism. WRT to the sound, they want to make sure you can always hear dialogue, so the environmental sound is a little strange at times. I didn't find it that bad though. The story does get a lot better, but a little crazy all up. The first couple of hours definitely don't tell you a lot. For me the first few hours were great for just becoming engulfed in the world of Columbia. If you didn't really feel that then the game isn't going to be quite as great for you I guess.
Two hours isn't enough to judge Bioshock Infinite. It's the better part of an hour before you even get a gun. Stop hating and give the game a chance. I remember you mocking the first few hours of Mass Effect, and that became one of your favorite games.
I started assassins creed 3 last. I'm disappointed so far. They've changed the controls for what doesn't seem like the better. There's constantly too much hud going on. Something pops up in the top right corner and before I finish reading it something shows up in another corner. That stupid webbing effect shows up all the time, usually completely without context, not enough is explained. I thought I was to play as Connor, not this Haytham. They share the same surname so I guess one story leads to another but all I saw of this game before playing it showcased Connor, it's like the whole raiden thing in mgs2, only in reverse. Also whoever decided white text on a white background was a good idea needs to be fired. It's early, but this game seems like a step back to me and I was already losing interest in the series, this might be enough to convince me to walk away from it.
I've played a bit more of AC3 and its getting a lot better. Admittedly most of my earlier gripes were just nit picking. Now I'm playing as a young Connor the game is feeling more like the one advertised. And I've become accustomed to the barrage of HUD updates.
I'm back into it now as well. I had a dabble before and managed to get some solar panels but starting again on Tekkit Lite is slow going. I'm trying to keep my place hidden so I'll probably use a bunch of water turbines to provide power.
I might get back into it as well. I found that once I survived the nightly monster attacks and built my giant penis fortress, I got kind of bored. It's the very definition of a sandbox game. You have to be creative and come up with your own goals or you'll get bored.
Tekkit lite brings a while bunch of extra stuff to try and do. You've got stuff like power armour, pipe transport systems, quarries, solar, wind, water and nuclear energy to play with. I'm currently setting up some water powered generators to produce some free electricity to power stuff around my base.
It's changed a bit since I've last played. I don't remember having a poison meter or even a hunger meter. The monsters seem to stay out a lot later in the day than they used to and today I think I spotted a cat. I'm not sure if it's an enemy or food. I also spawned in the jungle and I don't remember there being jungles.
Make sure you break lots of grass/bushes and get a wheat farm up and running asap, otherwise you'll starve to death.
Man I haven't played Minecraft in ages. I just got bored after a while. Me and my mate used to play it a lot but once we'd built our glorious huge mansion in the sky and explored the nearby cave systems we ran out of things to do. I have the naturally inferior xbox version. They're just about to add "the end" which should be cool but what I really want what I really really want is to be able to download other people's worlds and play on them. This seems like a no brainer and I'm wondering why they still haven't add this ability yet. That's probably the only thing that would coax me back to playing it at this stage.
They also increased the max height to the worlds. I believe it's now up to 256 blocks high instead of 128. I've hooked up my water generators to some batteries which are powering my electric furnaces now. Just need to build some higher capacity batteries so I don't waste anything from the water mills. They're pretty slow at generating power.
The jungle is a real pain in the ass. It's all cliffs, mountains, and vegetation. I'd love to find some level ground not covered in vines and crap.
Just walk a few thousand blocks to another biome. I got zapped 8,000 blocks away from spawn after stepping into a portal that sent me to limbo. Got killed by two creepers before i set my home with a bed. Luckily, the server unloads chunks when they're not near players so by the time I'd gotten enough food, weaponry and boats to make to voyage back, my stuff was still floating around.
I've got a herd of mooshrooms in my base. Pretty good cos I can milk them with a bowl and get infinite mushroom stew.
