That bit was tough, but - like most of the game - a bit of grinding will make your life easier. I'd recommend getting some strong familiars as that'll help. The boney soldier is good long term one - think he's in the desert near you.
One hour into The Last of Us. There is no interesting plot to praise but the technical side is amazing as for ps3. The amount of details is astonishing, I was almost licking all walls to see everything. Shadows, wind, leaves, they just loaded everything they got and it looks almost real.
Marvel Heroes It's free and it's Marvel. The fun factor is only average but it does have some appeal that makes short play sessions worth while.
I've played through a significant portion of The Last of Us. Everyone should play through this game at least once. Just about everything seems to have gone right with the development of this game. I'm so glad Naughty Dog made this instead of just jumping to the next Uncharted game. I appreciate games from a series more if they are spaced out a bit (although not quite as spaced out as the Half-Life games have been). I see quite a few Game of the Year and audio awards in Naughty Dog's near future.
@aks I've been thinking about dusting off my PS3 and picking up a copy. Is it worth full price, or should I wait for a price drop?
The Last of Us is one of the key games every PS3 owner should get. I haven't completed the game yet, but it has been of the highest quality throughout what I have played. I'd say at a bare minimum it is worth renting and doing a full playthrough. It's a game everyone should experience at least once. It's definitely worth $60 for me. How did you like Naughty Dog's previous games? I think you'd like the theme and tone if you're a fan of The Walking Dead. Just as the Uncharted games did a great job of capturing the Indiana Jones style blockbuster movie feel, The Last of Us very much captures the feel and tone of bleak, post-apocalyptic journeys such as The Walking Dead and elements of The Road. BTW, Troy Baker seems to be having a hell of a year as far as voice actors in video games go. He played the lead roles as Booker in Bioshock Infinite and Joel in The Last of Us, the top candidates for GOTY. He also has upcoming roles in Batman: Arkham Origins, inFamous: Second Son, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Seems to have his pick of roles at the moment.
I'd really like to get a PS3 so that I can play that game and a few others. I built a gaming PC about a year ago and it's difficult to even consider wanting a console again.
Playing The Last Of Us now. It's a top quality title in every respect. Everything is impressive about this game. It really is a beautiful game and is tense as hell, and I'm only 3 hours in. It's everything Resident Evil wishes it was. Also. Best opening 10 minutes of any game ever. Ever. If you have a PS3 you need this game. @aks I also got a definite walking dead feel, and I've only seen little bits of that show here and there.
The story is the tale of the main characters trying to survive in a hostile world similar to The Walking Dead or The Road.
The Last Of Us may well be the best game I have ever played. Maybe. I'll have to play some more. I have to restart too as I played for over an hour thinking I'd hit record but apparently hadn't. I have no qualms about starting this game again and losing my 4 ish hours. There's isn't really some major plot going on, the story is very much character driven rather than event driven. Last night I'd just gotten to the part where Tess is all like "Hey check this out, oops right?" That was one of the best cut scenes I've ever seen, and it was all sold on the acting, both animated and vocal. I can't rate this game highly enough. I can see this being an easy 10/10 if the game holds it's ground all the way through, and I don't give out 10/10 very often at all.
Tomb Raider Have to say it feels more like I am playing Uncharted than TR, not that this is necessarily a bad thing. The game is a mix of a little exploration, lots of fighting enemies and big set piece moments. I have to say I am enjoyed the stalking elements, creeping up on enemies and then putting an arrow in their head is pretty satisfying if you do not alert anyone else. The big set piece moments are pretty loud and explosive and the game breaks them up by having different segments, sometimes you may be running through a burning building the next you are avoiding trees on a parachute. There are not many tombs to raid at all, so far I have found 4 and they all consist of a single short puzzle and then you win a prize, at one point Lara when falling into a tomb even says 'God I hate tombs!'. The hunting around for keys and buttons to open things and avoiding traps along the way has completely gone which is a bit of a shame but it is by no means a bad game at all. I guess Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix didn't think people wanted tombs filled with puzzles anymore. Overall I am enjoying it so I will give it 8/10
Yup. Screw that shit. Those types of apps are games without gameplay. You tell someone to perform some crappy animation for 8 hours then come back to tap on money. It's the game that plays itself. Not for me.
Still playing Destiny. I recently found out that the ascendant materials can be put in the vault to share amongst characters, which means once I get my second and third characters to level 20 I can do the daily 3 times each day and triple my ascendant material income, plus playing as different classes is helping the game feel a little less stale. Also dipping back into MGSV Ground Zeroes to finish up some work as I'm not even 50|% done on that.
Batman: Arkham City(PC): A bit late to playing this and I have wanted to ever since I finish Asylum. Been loving it so far, especially the open City.
Not had a console since I finished Arkham Asylum so I could not play it but some reason my Laptop can run most PC games around 2010 and under quite well. Once in a blue moon lag but it is very manageable and the game has been running very well. If I had a proper graphics card I would be able to run everything plus PS2 Emus which would give me something to do gaming wise. It's the version with all the DLC as well so after the story I can do Harveys little story mode.
I've been playing Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare. Pop Cap took Plants vs Zombies and gave it a Team Fortress 2 make over. It's really fun. I bought it 2 weeks ago during Sony's halloween sale.
