What Games Are You Playing?

  1. Child of Light

It's actually pretty good. I've heard it's like the old FF games but all modernized and stuff. I haven't played any FF so I wouldn't know.

  2. You best start playing some of the best ffs then!

  3. Wolfenstein: The New Order

So far it's decent but it's not really blowing me away. I got pretty burned out on WW2 shooters back in the early 00's. This mixes things up a bit by being an alternate history version of WW2 where the Germans got the atom bomb first and won the war, but I don't know if that's enough to hold my attention.

  4. The Crew:

Enjoying it so far. Has a Need for speed: Underground feel so its good.

  5. I got back into driveclub a bit today - playing time trials with mates locally. Shame the real game gets so difficult - tge time trials were a lot of fun and the way the game pushes you by giving you faster ghosts as you improve works well. Shame tge PVC team/group relies on ME so much - think I've got something like 2.7 million out of 3.5 million experience we have. Phisix and the deceased chi need to get their fingers out.

Also played the PS4 pro evo tonight. Pretty good. Still pissed off you can't use analogue and digital controls for movement. No reason for it and it's hard to re-train over a decade of experience.

  6. I have only played it once as a test. Seemed okay but is it just constant racing and no upgrading or anything.

  7. Yeah, Driveclub falls down on the upgrades. You can get faster cars but they never dominate like in gran turismo. Makes progress pretty tough. The graphics are beautiful and the race engine is great but it's just too tough.

  8. BTW, got our club to level 15 so you should now have access to the Zonda.

  9. I'm trying some game called Eden*. I think Phisix will have to explain it to me because I have no idea what it is. I'm like 10 minutes in and it's people talking about vegetables.

  10. I got your game alerts, unfortunately I wasn't online that time. But I hope to catch you soon and will also send some of my challenges. I still play the game from time to time, one of the best racing games I've ever played, not quite because of great graphics but I am really satisfied with the driving model.

However, most of the time lately I play Witcher 3. It is as good as people claim it is and even though I play games for like 30 years, this one still surprises me in a good way. Quests are among the best I've ever seen and the world is a great background. What really suits me is the combat system, not a stupid button mashing but rather requires some patience when dueling with stronger enemies.

  11. I got them too but been addicted to GTAO.

    Eden? Bfun?

  12. Payday 2

It's Left 4 Dead with cops and robbers instead of zombies and survivors, except that while Left 4 Dead was really good, this game is total poo. Why is there no crosshair for the guns? You're just supposed to blind fire or aim down sights? That's dumb. How does a game manage to fail so badly at basic first person shooter mechanics in 2015? At every turn the game wants to sell you overpriced DLC. Also there are tons of levels but they all feel identical, and there doesn't appear to be a way to just quickly connect to the first available server with people playing. Literally every mission you walk into a store, break jewelry cases, and then the cops come. That's the whole game. If you've played one round, you've seen everything. I think this might be worse than Evolve in terms of being a one trick pony, but for some strange reason this is popular, but people could see Evolve for what it was and avoided that game. 1/10 waste of $5.

I think I might even take advantage of Steam's new refund policy. Apparently if you've played less than two hours and it's been under 14 days, you can get your money back. I think that's great, because I've made some impulse purchases during Steam sales where I quickly realized I had wasted my money. The first two Witcher games are a good example. Those were so bad that even at $3, they were not worth the money. Thinking back there are a lot of games where I realized in the first hour or two that I had bought a piece of poo. I think this refund policy is a great thing for consumers.

  13. Well that's cool. They already refunded it. PC gaming master race FTW.

Meanwhile I am not aware of any stores in the US that accept returns of console games once they've been opened. Add returns of bad games to the long list of things that PCs have over consoles.

  14. You should go refund yourself.

  15. Hmm. I might have to return eden*. I'm still waiting for Phisix to tell me what it is.

  16. Looks like a MMO to me in Anime style. Probably not your thang.

  17. it's actually a visual novel. yep you don't do anything but read

  18. I got one of those in PS store sale. Kept wondering what the appeal was, didn't seem to have much game to it and the story was pretty dull.

  19. Must have seen screens of Eden Eternal. Stuff playing a visual novel game.
