Fallout 4 still playing for months .,this game have amazing landscapes and tons of upgrades and settlements mods.
I've played through the demo a few times, and think Platinum Games will have yet another hit on their hands with Nier: Automata and basically owns the action game genre at this point. The game play is of course incredibly smooth, fast, and responsive as would be expected from the creators of Bayonetta. The music is also incredible so far, reminding me of music from Ghost in the Shell but with a more driven pace. It's not my personal favorite genre, but I'm pretty much sold if this demo represents the final game. Here's the music from the demo: I think it's epic to the point that it almost distracted me while playing it. I was into the music as much as what was happening in the game.
Dishonored 2 I'm really not liking this one as much as the first game. Going the stealthy/sneaky route is very boring in this one. It's a combination of the level design not being as good, and there not being interesting options for taking down enemies in a stealthy fashion. Also it's a complete mess from a technical standpoint. Turn vsync and triple buffering on = some of the worst mouse lag I've ever seen. Turn it off = some of the worst screen tearing I've ever seen. Also don't even bother with this game if you have 4GB of VRAM or less. The microstuttering will drive you crazy. This is a game that was made to sell 8GB video cards. It's not even a particularly great looking game by today's standards. The graphics are nearly identical to the first game.
Yes, I upgraded to an Asus 1070 Strix. There are parts of this game that run like shit even on a 1070 (people are even saying it runs badly on the 1080). At 1920x1200, the framerate dips down into the 40s in some of the open areas of Karnaca. If you turn off v-sync, it has a wildly uneven framerate with some of the worst screen tearing I've ever seen. I would say it was flat out unplayable on the 980 I had before due to microstuttering (which I'm absolutely certain was a VRAM issue). I have no idea how the engine for this is based on some of the same tech as the Doom reboot. That was well optimized and ran amazingly well. This game runs like total shit. Maybe the worst port I've seen in recent years other than that Batman game. If it looked amazing, I could forgive the performance issues. But it doesn't. It looks like a game from 2011 or 2012 and also runs like shit.
Rainbow Six Siege I'm only doing the single player at the moment. It feels like a typical Rainbow Six game. A little clunky with graphics that already feel old. I'm enjoying it's unique missions but the real test will be multiplayer.
Hmm I'm not sure about typical rainbow six game. It's the first rainbow six game that went full out modern mainstream action style. It's a lot faster pace than the older ones, but still slower than the battlefield/cod twitch shooters since it's all close quarter combat. The iteration before this was rainbow six vegas which was a cover shooter. Also this is the first rainbow six game without a campaign mode. The single player mode you currently speak of is just glorified tutorials.
I've always felt the Rainbox Six games had their own play style. Movement and shooting just feel different than most other shooters. I want to say that they almost feel unnatural but this game is indeed faster and more precise than previous ones. I'm not saying it's a negative experience but it still feels like Rainbow Six. The graphics aren't the sharpest even with the texture pack. Maybe they intentionally add blur. It bothered me at first but it didn't seem to affect the play and after awhile I stopped noticing it. The game with texture pack is huge at 64GB. That's surprising since the maps are so small. I can also drop the FPS down to 30 on a1070 if all the AA is turned up. I find the tutorials to be pretty good. I suppose I could jump into online play and learn as I go but I'll take my time. I also have to say that Uplay support has been very good. My code for this game expired and after showing them a screenshot of a receipt they were able to reactivate it.
I have been playing the Survival DLC in The Division. I just had my best Survival extraction yet, 12 total caches and around 8500 points. However, douchebag Dark Zone behavior is alive and well in this DLC. I killed the tough new enemy that spawned at the end but before my extraction arrived two dumbasses wandered in and spawned 2 more of them, which of course killed and executed one of them immediately and chased the other candyass into hiding, leaving me to kill a total of 3 of them, which I eventually did. Overall, it's quite enjoyable because the difficulty is significantly higher, and the Survival mechanics, such as making clothing have a functional stat for protection from the cold, are a nice change of pace. The new enemy has surprisingly good AI. I actually thought the first one I saw was a player based on behavior and movement. Usually "boss" enemies just have more health and do more damage, but in this instance they're a bit fragile but heal frequently and have excellent AI instead.
I played through the Rise of the Tomb Raider demo for PS4 Pro. This easily has among the best graphics I've ever seen outside of PC gaming. If you have a Pro, I strongly recommend trying it out. The settings also allow you to swap between 4K, enhanced, or higher frame rate at any time. I'll probably buy this for the right price.
I played through Rise of the Tomb Raider recently and am now onto Uncharted 4 and I am torn. The start of Rise has amazing graphics but when you hit Siberia the white environments take away from the awe.. The start of Uncharted 4 looks good but then you hit Madagascar and wow it looks amazing, the character models are also better throughout Uncharted except the ones in the prologue which seemed too smooth. Both amazing titles and both work wonders with the PS4 hardware.
I haven't played Uncharted in a while but every time I play a new Tomb Raider game it totally seems like they copied the Uncharted franchise.
Resident evil 7 in psvr on a ps4 pro. This is probably the first game I've played where my primary method of locomotion is shitting myself. Watched a bit of arma's stream and he complained about the blurriness on the regular ps4. After comparing footage, it's much clearer on the pro
Upcoming PS4 games seem to be getting very good Pro support, including for 1080p displays. Horizon and Nioh appear to have particularly strong Pro support at both 1080p and the higher resolution settings. I've got Nioh coming in the mail either today or tomorrow. It has 3 graphical settings each for the base PS4 and Pro and adaptive resolution. I've only played the RE7 demo, but I noticed the effects of HDR support and wished it let me go outside to look around. My escape from the house was interrupted.
I played a bit of Nioh yesterday. For whatever reason, it the disc drive was ungodly loud and busy constantly searching and whirring, leading me to uninstall and install that damn game 4 times and try other means to fix it. Defeating the first boss is what ultimately fixed the noise. I haven't had any problems since. It's definitely a tough game, which is unsurprising given it's a Team Ninja game that resembles FROM's "Souls" series. It has pretty decent Pro support, although it definitely isn't pushing the envelope like a game like Horizon Zero Dawn. Combat is deep and responsive. It's a good comeback game for Team Ninja after a decade of turbulence and mediocre games following the departure of their jackass boss Itagaki. They seem to be back on track now.
The disc drive will be noisy when it's installing data to the hard drive, which it does when you first insert the disc. It had probably finished installing when you got to the boss. From then on, the drive only spins up on booting the game and stops once it's verified the disc
I left it on for 2 to 3 hours to install without playing it, and it was still whirring and churning constantly like it the disc drive was looking for something that could not be found. It did that even when the application was completely closed. It was only after I completed the first level that it stopped and became almost silent just like every other game.
World of Final Fantasy. Feels more like a FF than XV did which in all reality was pretty poor. Just seems like it won't be too long as chapters come and go so quickly, I guess that is the fact that it is also available on Vita that might be the cause of a shorter game?
Final Fantasy XV looked like it was for fags. A bunch of sissybois driving around in a fagmobile fighting for LGBT rights. And embracing while dancing to Stand by Me.
