What Games Are You Playing?

  1. I take it you completed it then. Go and replay it on crushing mode or get Uncharted 2.

  2. I did and I will...Eventually.

  3. Now I have my Xbox 360 back, I can carry one playing Star Ocean IV again. Nothing real amazing happening at the moment, but I am enjoying to thus far.

  4. I'm about to start Assassins Creed 2 and Assassins Creed Brotherhood. I enjoyed the first game, so hopefully these are good too.

  5. Assassins Creed 2 is indeed good. Thought some of the glyph riddles are hard as hell! Had to google some of them. Not got Brotherhood yet will buy it soon. I want AC3 as I need to know what happens next in the present storyline!

  6. Still playing New Vegas. If I play too much I get bored with it. If I take a few days off I want to play again. I’d been planning to go the Yes Man route but now I’m just starting the NCR path. I already destroyed Caesars legion. It was tough but a crowded tent and a grenade launcher can solve a lot of problems.

  7. 3D Dot Game Heroes.

At first I was a little disappointed but once you get past the first couple of temples the game really becomes addictive and great fun to play. The only problem I still have with it is the lack of magic drops, considering how dependant some of the temples are on magic such as the fire temple picking up the green apples is too much hard work.

I have started to 'book' a lot of enemies but the bee boss seemed like too much agro so I have given up on that until I have more health. Getting the trophy for acing him might be a pain as dodging both him and his little bees can be a little luck based. I actually had more trouble getting the trophy for aceing the snake harder than the golem. When it was above 1/2 length it was a bit more random but once I got it down to just the head it was easy. Glad I got a couple of the rarier enemies booked too like the white slime but a dragon that appeared on the mountain killed me and never respawned so need to look for that.

    Good game.

  8. Demon's Souls got me.

After completing 1-1, 1-2 and 2-1 with a Soldier, I've decided to build a new character, this time starting with a Royalty. It's much, much simpler - I've run through 1-1 and 2-1 without losing a single life!

Of course it's not as easy now, I am trying 5-1 which looks interesting and doable and 4-1 which for a moment seems too difficult (there are too many of these silver terminators). I've tried 3-1 but it seems to be the most difficult of these three.

    Anyway, great and exceptional game.

  9. Once I have finished 3D Dot Games Heroes I have decided this will be next on my list.

  10. If memory serves, there's a handy weapon not far from the beginning of 4-1. You'd need to make it past the skeletons, turn left as you enter the castle area, and turn left again towards the black skeleton. It's behind the black skeleton. Watch out for those guys; they are very powerful. There's also a friggin' awesome shield later in the level that regens your health (not great at defense, though, especially against fire), which is also guarded by another black skeleton.

5-2 is the level everyone whines about. It's not nearly as bad as most say if you have stacked regen items and use stealth.

World 3 is confusing until you learn where things are. There are some pretty diabolical pranks the game can play on you there. I'd be wary of deception there. It's also home of the toughest boss encounter in the game, the end of 3-2. It's quite tough on NG+ and beyond.

I'd keep a lookout for the Mirdan Hammer, a drop from miners early in 2-2. Despite being just an ordinary seeming drop, it's perhaps the most deadly weapon in the game if you learn how to use it in PVP. Typically, you use it against enemies 2-handed. I'd at least have it in your inventory to deal with invaders.

  11. World 3 is the prison levels right? That was the only world I hated. It took a long time to find my way out to the boss there. That arrow shooting wall got me the first time I made it there but eventually did it. You can also find one of the best magic sellers there too right if I remember correctly.

  12. Yeah, that's the prison world. 3-2 in particular is the one that can create a lot of problems, especially if you're a trusting soul. It's always the silent types that get you.

  13. I actually preferred 3-2 to the inside of the prison bit of 3-1. The two twin bosses of 3-2 were quite easy too, if they did not knock you off the sides. I miss the game, but I did two game + and only needed the trophy's done. My brother still has it with my old PS3 so I will get it back sometime. Cannot wait for Dark Souls!

  14. Try the 3-2 boss in NG++++ and see if you still feel that it's easy. The first time through it's not too bad, but after a few times through it gets very difficult.

  15. I only got to NG++ I think before I started playing other games. I hope Dark Souls keeps what Demon Souls was, but adds and changes things too.

  16. I bought myself Heavy Rain at the weekend along with the navigation controller. Now I can veg out with a few beers and play the awesomeness without having to hold the dual shock in my right hand using the left stick, that was awkward.

  17. I tried pokemon platinum with no$gba and it works! I tried diamond on my old laptop but it ran at about 5 fps. It goes fine on this laptop. Trouble is on platinum the bottom screen is all Japanese so it's no good. So I've finally upgraded from Pokemon Emerald to Pokemon Pearl. Just started, hope it's good. I might look into getting Black or White again if someone gets around to putting an English version out there.

The only gripe I have is that the display is pretty tiny. I can read the text ok but I reckon after a while it might get too much. Anyone know how to embiggen it? I'm looking at you phisix!. I went into the properties and checked the "display in 640x480" option but it made everything on the desktop huge and it's rediculous, how do you do it?

  18. DeSmuME 0.9.7 > no$gba

  19. I hope you are using No$zoomer? If you have a good PC and big RAM I would advise you to go with desmume than No$Gba as it runs all DS games at a higher and better FPS.

Ah, I guess you don't have No$Zoomer. No$Zoomer is an No$Gba addon which makes the screen much bigger. Desmune has zooming built in so well worth a download if your PC and RAM is any good.

  20. I downloaded no$zoomer but the text was all foreign and the file was promptly branded as malware so I removed it instantly. I don't suppose you're allowed to recommend a web page with a safe download could you?
Also I think on my old laptop I used desmume, not no$gba but I remember having the same problem. I can live with it if I can't get a safe version on no$zoomer from somewhere.
