What Games Are You Playing?

  1. Was it something Samsung? Ebay has tons of Samsung redemption codes.

  2. Yes, I really liked the first one

And this one is better in every way. Looks really nice too. Give it a go if you like Mr Robot the TV Show.

I am really enjoying Nier at the moment. The Girl in it is very GUSTA..

  3. Started playing the new Mass Effect. Not bad so far but not amazing. Using the jet pack is quite cool though.

  4. I've been playing mostly racing simulators for the past year, primarily iRacing and Assetto Corsa. The others that I spend less time with every now and then are Automobilista, RaceRoom Racing Experience, rFactor 2 and Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo.

iRacing is pretty expensive in terms of video game pricing as you have to pay a subscription fee and you have to buy most pieces of content separately, but this reflects in the quality of the game. It runs really well on my PC, has support for "simultaneous multi projection" for triple displays, VR support, laser scanned tracks, the whole shabang.

Most recently I've also played two other games, Player Unknown's Battleground and Rust. I'm enjoying Rust a lot at the moment.

  5. Gone back to Final Fantasy XIV after 2 years after wanting to get back into it and Square-Enix also allowing a free PS3 to PS4 transfer so I got the PS4 version free. Shame I am a expansion behind and the new one is out this month its going to be a long slog.

  6. Overcooked was on sale on Steam a week ago and I bought it thinking it would be fun to play with my 4 year old son. What a mistake that was. This game is so much more intense than I thought it would be and requires quite of bit of coordination. Spoiler alert: 4 year old boys don't like to cooperate with directions. I get so frustrated.

Me: "Buddy, go get me some tomatoes."
    Alex: "Okay Daddy."
(Proceeds to go stand by the sink and not do anything)
    Me:"....... where are those tomatoes?"
Alex: "I didn't get them. I'm making a secret potion."
(Proceeds to spray the fire extinguisher while spinning in circles.)
Alex: "Daddy? .... Daddy? ..... Daddy?"
    Me: "Whats up, bud?"
Alex: (Still spinning) "A MAAAAAAAAAGIC POTION."
    *facepalm*

  7. I don't let my son play anything violent but he just spent the week with his much older cousins playing COD and Rainbow Six Siege on the Xbox. He's going to be upset when it's back to the old Nintendo again.

  8. Tales From The Borderlands

I'm enjoying this a lot more than expected. I suspect a lot of the humor is going over my head because I didn't play the original games but it's still pretty good as a stand alone game.

    Shadow Warrior 2

Pretty similar to the first game. Just with more variety in the weapons and mission objectives, and slightly better graphics.

  10. Shadow Warrior 2

It's pretty much like Doom but with worse voice acting, funny dialog, and an equipment upgrade system. Game play is repetitive but somehow still fun.

  11. I bought Diablo III back when it first came out, played it for a little bit, then just stopped because I was put off by the fact that the skill system was so different from D2.

I reinstalled it this month and have been playing it every night. I don't know what changed about me between now and then, but I don't have contempt for the game like I did and I'm actually enjoying it. Maybe I just needs to be farther removed from D2 because I played that game so religiously back in its time.

I bought the Necromancer DLC and loving the character so far.

  12. Back in 2014, iirc, a month or 2 before reaper of souls expansion, Blizz released the big 2.0 patch. I recall it bringing back a bunch of players that abandoned the game.

I don't play Diablo at all but this is what I read from the game news.

  13. Pretty sure I bought it at launch so I probably played before the patch. I didn't care for it.

  14. It's one of those games I don't care to play at all (not just Diablo 3, but never played the past ones either) but I like to read up on the progress of it. Diablo 3 especially has an interesting blizzard history.

The lead designer at the beginning was Jay Wilson and he formed a controversial reputation from his decisions and loud mouth. He actually openly said "fuck that guy" when one of the original Diablo devs said that Diablo 3 wasn't a game that they'd make. He was also the guy that made the decision to add the real money auction house to the game.

    http://www.pcgamer.com/jay-wilson-former-diablo-3-game-director-is-leaving-blizzard/

He left Diablo 3 in early 2013 and the game made a lot of changes that the players loved.

Diablo 3 also serves as a good example on the what to do and not to do in loot pinata style games. There's quite a bit of these style games coming out recently and its hilarious to see them do the same mistakes that Diablo 3 did in the past. Blizzard's generally really transparent when they release their patches and explain why they made the decision to change something to the extent of "We found players enjoy this more than this due to feedback" and "We found that this made it punishing for players so we changed it to this" so they basically admitted their original design choice was wrong. Meanwhile the other devs out there are repeating mistakes that Blizzard has already made.

I remember playing the Division and was boggled at some of the design decisions the devs made which the players hated. Fast forward to over a year later and the game literally took diablo 3 ideas. Was way too late though as a majority of the playerbase has left he game.

  15. I did not know any of that went on. I just thought it was me. I can confirm that I was one of those people whom was a huge fan of the original games, and just did not like Diablo 3. Its nice to know that I wasn't just being one of those guys who reacts negatively to change, because I'm usually not. If other people found the game flawed, that explains my previous distaste for it.

  16. Why haven't you been mentioning all the Blizzard games being remastered? StarCraft, WarCraft 3, Diablo 2.

  17. Honestly, I'm not much of a retro gamer. I'm actually not much of an RTS fan either. Truth is, the last RTS game I REALLY got into was Dune 2. Pretty scary no? I've played countless others but fell out of them pretty quick.. command and conquer, age of empires, etc.

I went back and played some warcraft 3 in 2008 and didn't feel it either. Pretty satisfied with just watching all of the cutscenes for warcraft 3 to see how it led to world of warcraft's storyline.

Now that I think of it though, I do love sins of a solar empire.

  18. I downloaded the old Windows Solitaire game. It's still fun.

  19. Played a few hours of Dying Light. It was creepy in the beginning with daylight and slow zombies but when I had to do parkour in the dark with super zombies chasing me I was done.

  20. I'm probably half way through Prey. So far I'd give it a B which is barely good enough to keep me playing.
