The seamonsters in this game get nuts. I had something enormous just pick up my sea moth sub and throw it so hard it came out of the water, got airborne, and went flying half-way across the map.
I just completed it. Absolutely would be 10 out of 10 for me if not for the amount of animation bugs and occasional crashes. Well worth the $25. The experience was incredibly satisfying and the ending feels like you've worked very hard to earn it. *applause*
I'd give it a 9 out of 10 so far. It has a bit of stuttering and some animation glitches for me, and the on foot portions aren't that great. Otherwise, it's top notch. One of the best and most unique games I've played in a very long time. I'm nowhere near done and I already feel like I got my $25 worth.
Been playing Bloodbourne which is free via psplus. Brilliant game but hard as fuck. Play it if you like Demon/Dark souls.
I've got Sea of Thieves. I have mixed feeling about it. The Good: - Graphics style works very well. The water animation is amazing. - The sailing mechanics work great and have a good balance between complexity and simplicity. - Playing with friends is so much fun The Bad: - The world is much more empty than I expected - Quests are a little bit of a grind. I don't mind, but this might be a turn off for some - Single player can be boring because of lack of content - I'm playing on PC and I've had the game lock up on me randomly a couple times I'm interested to see what they add in the future, because there is a good foundation, but the game feels incomplete. If anyone buys it and wants to play, add me. My Xbox tag is Hawkenstein.
John Lindeman of Digital Foundry said the HDR implementation in Sea of Thieves is probably second only to GT Sport. The water looks incredible, too. But it seems like the game still needs some work. I think I'm going to wait and see for now. I hope it's overhauled and debugged and I can get it on sale later.
Far Cry 5 It doesn't seem as good as 4 so far. The setting is kind of boring and it has less interesting villains.
Some of the companions are fun in this one. I like Cheeseburger, the diabetic bear. Probably my biggest complaint is that enemies seem to re-spawn way too much. It gets especially insane on the roads, which turn into death traps. They probably need to tone it down a bit with a patch. So far I would agree that it's about on par with 3. It's pretty good, but it's not amazing like #1 or #4.
I've been playing a lot of the following: Rock Band 4 - got it a couple months ago and got the required adapters to use my instruments on Xbox One, all of my old music has ported over, and thankfully I had RB1/RB2/GreenDay/Lego exports back in the day, so I've got those songs too, and RB3 exported over soon after playing RB4. Love playing the rhythm games again and I host a party for it about once a week now with my friends. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 - played the campaign again on Xbox360 and dabbling in the multiplayer again, still a fun game. Call of Duty Black Ops 3 - got this one on PC back when it came out, starting to play the zombies mode again and was pleasantly surprised to find it has server browser and has steam workshop mod support for zombies maps which are fantastic Total War Rome II - picked this one up a few months ago on sale and can't put it down, it's an awesome strategy game and I love the setting/history around it
I've played through a decent amount of God of War. It is extremely impressive across the board. It's of the same caliber technically as Horizon, and gameplay and storytelling a significantly improved over previous God of War games. It will be a strong game of the year candidate.
I got one of those Mini NES units and have been playing Tecmo Bowl. Looks like the 1986 49s are going to the Super Bowl again.
I couldn't think of any games I wanted that it didn't have except for maybe Spy VS Spy. I actually played Super Mario Bros 3 for the first time ever. I also bought some new controllers and extension cables because the cable length it comes with is retarded.
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War It's fun. I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to be doing so I'm just killing Orcs.
Playing through these at the moment: Horizon Zero Dawn - mostly watching my wife play this one, very interesting world and really nice graphics so far, albeit seems there's some grinding you have to do to advance your skills, but so far even just the grinding is interesting to watch Skyrim VR - finally set up my VR play space in the new house I've moved into and playing through this Superhot VR - same as above Call of Duty WW2 - just playing multiplayer, I already finished the campaign a few months ago. I've put maybe 40-50 hours in the online and I still enjoy it a lot for some reason. Recently got the DLC as well.
Shadow of War I have no idea what's going on in the story in this one, but it sure is fun killing orcs.
I have 30 hours and I'm about ready to put it down. The story gets better but it does start to get grind-e. You need to collect orcs but you can't collect them if they're a higher level than you so you need to lower their level which makes them useless. So it seems like you are unnecessarily having to level yourself up because at level 30 I can beat a level 40 orc but it doesn't matter. It's still fun but I'm not sure I wand to grind.
