Just about to get my platinum on Ico, one trophy to go. Shadow of the Colossus is sitting at two completions, normal and hard. Still got at least two more to get anywhere near platinum for that.
Uncharted beta didn't finish by 12am. Must have been downloading from 6ish - probably got about 6gb of stuff in that time. Hmmmm. Still, could play Costume Quest as it was downloading. Actually completed it in one sitting. Thought it was a short, sweet and simple RPG style game. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
The RRP of Dark Souls (limited edition which is the only one it seems) is £51.05 so unless I can find it for £40 or less in the shops tomorrow I will order it online. Shame really as I wanted to play tomorrow but Gameplay are doing it for £37.99 so that will be my option. If I order tomorrow there is a chance it will come in the post on Saturday I suppose but ideally I want to pick it up tomorrow.
Dark Souls: Limited Edition. The numpty serving me in Gamestation had to ask his boss if the limited edition was only for pre orders despite me telling him 3 times that at the moment it is the only one available. £39.99 isn't bad for a shop price. It came with a whole book full of artwork, a behind the scenes DVD and a soundtrack CD. It says on the box digital game guide but I haven't found that yet, think it has to be downloaded. EDIT: Signed up to preparetodie.com/ce with a code in the box and I can now download the DVD, the CD, a mini strategy guide and a map.
Purchased FIFA 12 for the 360 this weekend on Amazon. I think this is literally the only EA sports game I've purchased this generation. Seems like the new AI and physics have received some good reviews, and I like the fact that defense isn't so heavily oriented around slide tackling anymore.
There's a crazy amount of stuff coming out at the moment - ordered a lot yesterday (fair bit will be hived off as Xmas presents): Uncharted 3 Skyrim Battlefield 3 Disgaea 4 Dark Souls Last week I picked up Dead Island and Batman AC. Fuck knows where I'm going to find the time to play all these.
There are so many great games in November that I barely remember such great month in last few years (?). I've decided to skip Uncharted 3 and ordered Skyrim and Assassin's Creed. Next week I am going to order Zelda and the 3DS Super Mario. I also need a machine to clone myself, I hope they got something on Amazon ...
Lucky for you they have something but I think you have to change your name to Willy to make it work. http://www.amazon.com/Empire-Labs-Clone-A-Willy-Kit-White/dp/B000NBS2RE/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1320177566&sr=1-1
I got the Borderlands GoTY edition with all of the DLC for less than $7.50 off of steam from the sale.
I bought RAGE for $40 from Steam. Can you believe this game doesn't have Crossfire support? What the hell? Luckily a single 6950 is powerful enough to cover what I need most of the time, but this is ridiculous for a game that's supposed to be a tech showcase to not have any sort of CF support. If CF support is patched in, one has to wonder how the scaling would be. I'm certainly not expecting the frame rate to nearly double like it does in some of the other games games like Bad Company 2 or Aliens v. Predator. The games visuals are are somewhat a mixed bag. When you're roaming around outside in a vehicle, it looks terrific most of the time. The landscape looks great. However, when you're up close indoors, the environment often looks rather bland. You're certainly not going to confuse the indoor settings with Metro: Last Light. Rather, you might confuse a close-up of some of the objects with a PS3 or 360 game at times. I expected the lighting and effects to be more impressive. The animation looks pretty good. Enemies react depending on where you hit them. I've only played through the first area, so I'm just stating my initial impressions. It seems decent as a game, but it's really stunning that some of the issues I mentioned are present, especially CF support, and it does not live up to the megahype. However, I was made aware of that before I bought it. Being limited to half my GPU power is the part that I think is inexcusable.
Skyrim has been delivered in Thursday and today I've bought AC: Revelations. I don't think I will play it now, as Skyrim occupies my console time but I've been tempted with the edition which contains the first AC as a bonus. What an autumn! I've decided to wait until the Uncharted 3 is discounted (spring? summer?) but still there's Zelda and Mario waiting. I think I am gonna skip one or even both, just because I really have no TIME to play all this
I've just got Super Mario 3DS and played to the 4th world. The game is absolutely a-m-a-z-i-n-g The design of levels, the 3D effect, the control scheme. Everything works perfectly. No boring introductions, no dialogues, just one of the greatests portable Marios ever.
Recently, I've purchased Skyrim (PC), Arkham City (PC; on sale), and Zelda: Skyward Sword (had credit coming w/ buy.com; costed me $22 today).
