It's meant to be pretty poor. The "Goddesses" are supposed to represent the console manufacturers. It's by Sega, make of that what you will.
My mistake, it's distributed by Sega in Japan, NIS in America. It's scoring within the 2-5 out of 10 region
Metacritic gave it a 45 out of 100, but the user score was a 7.8 out of 10. It's one of those games that you'll either love it or hate it. Almost no middle ground with this one. http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/hyperdimension-neptunia The dungeons are very basic looking and the story is very corny. But it's backed by some very cool artwork and the battles are fun. And I actually like the story.
I downloaded Final Fantasy VII for £3.49 from the PlayStation Store last night. I never got off the first disc back in the day and since it's widely regarded as the best Final Fantasy game among fans I figured it'd be worth giving it another go. I'll get around to it sometime. For now I have two Bioshock games and two Assassin's Creed games to get through.
Being a Final Fantasy X lover you will like that game. Still the best Final Fantasy not to mention RPG ever and today is its 15th birthday. Make sure you actually finish the game this time.
FFIX is better than FFVII for ONE! I don't like the battle view in DQ but its a good game. Skies was good but got a bit dull, every battle was the same with the same moves being used over and over and over again.
Yeah but the story, characters, setting and music rocked in Skies of Arcadia. Nah, FFIX is not as good as VII although FFIX is still amazing,
IX was better than VII for me. Although I can see how VII's emoishnessness would have struck a chord with the schoolkids at the time.
I had IX on an emulator a couple of years back. I made it to disc 3 and decided I really didn't like anything about the game, not one thing, so I stopped playing.
For me best (J)RPG goes to Phantasy Star IV. Combines the story of Skies of Arcadia (without the air pirates thing, you do know their made by the same ppl??), the same twist as FF7 with an engaging battle system similar to Chrono Trigger (macros makes it better!) plus it predates all of them!! No question in my mind. Best most Fave RPG overall is KOTOR though, gotta prefer the ATB and the JRPG generic storyline has really been played out for me over the years (especially since it's the same with anime).
PS4 was done by however Sonic Team was assembled back than (if it's the same team that does PSO), but word is some of the talent ended up working on Panzer Dragoon Saga and Arcadia.
